That's lucid. All that "Lucid" means is that you are AWARE that you are dreaming. Dream CONTROL is exactly that - control. You don't need control to be lucid.

Sounds like you had a smattering of lucidity there. You were aware you were dreaming for a little bit.
However, remember that you can have some level of dream control WITHOUT realising that you are dreaming. You don't need to be lucid to have dream control, and the vice-versa is also true - you don't need to have dream control to be lucid.

Reason I ask is that I read that it takes a few weeks and practice for this type of thing to happen, and it happened not 6 hours after I read about it.[/b]
Yeah, you did have a low level lucid dream I think.
It's not at ALL unusual for a newbie to come to DV and say "Hey I had a lucid dream the night after reading the site!". It takes PRACTICE to be able to induce lucids, BUT, it's very common, especially for someone encountering and reading about lucid dreaming for the first time, to have an "accidental" lucid their first night. Sort of like, when you pick up a hobby, you get enthusiastic about it right at the start, and this enthusiasm means some initial success. Don't be disappointed, though, if you don't have another lucid for a bit. You might have to practice to make them come regularly.
Oh yeah, and WELCOME by the way.
