Hello im a noob and this lucid dreaming stuff seems weird but im willing to try it anyways. I dont like the idea of waking after each REM stage or whatever though so can you learn dream recall so can you not just wake up in the morning and try really hard? Or does everyone wake once every 90 min?

Hey I'm sort of new aswell and I managed to have (recently) 3 lucid dreams....and I didn't wake myself up to have a good recall (but recalling dreams in the morning is very important, or at least trying).....I just did the time double-check thing which worked once.....
      Good luck!

      Hello b4ckwash! Welcome to dreamviews!

I don't think anyone would like the idea to wake up every 90 minutes . Happily, that's not necessary. I've been around here for some time and I've had 5 lucid dreams and I'm pretty contempt with that and I never had to wake up during the night, every 90 minutes, although there were times when Itried to wake up once during the night, because I was really desperate at that time to have an LD.

The best things that'll help you to have lucid dreams are a keeping a dream journal (you need a lot of patience with this one), always be optimistic about it (a bad attitude is only going to drag you down) and constantly do reality checks. Of course, after that you can try other techiniques, you can read about them in the tutorials section. And maybe, if you get desperate you'll want to try the wake every 90 minutes method.

Hoping you'll have fun adventurous lucid dreams!

      Hey! Welcome to Dreamviews!

Everyone actually does wake up many times, on average 15, during the night. We ussually just don't remember these times.

Purposely waking up during REM is very, very helpful to remembering a dream as its when the most vivid dreaming occurs. You however can just wake up in the morning and record what you remember, though that may be more difficult and take longer.

To help your recall, instead of waking up right away in the morning, just lie there with your eyes closed and don't move much. Make no major movements, and don't think about the day. Concentrate on remembering your dreams, and when you remember bits and peices ask yourself "What did I do before that? And that?" and record what you remember. Even if its just small peices, or just one scene, or a place, a mood, anything. Record it.

For more help, be sure to check out our Tutorials Section.

Otherwise, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. We have a wonderful, friendly and very helpful community. So if you need anything, ask away. Many would be happy to help.

      Happy Dreaming!

Hey b4ckwash Welcome to the forum. Exo gave you all the recall advice that I was going to say, so I guess I'll just stick to "welcome!"

See you around. Good luck and have fun.

I woke up this morning and remembered a dream but the memory got really vague and now all I can remember is a scene, looking at the hill behind my house in the dream. Also it feels like I can almost recall some things that were happening, and I like remember people but cant put a face to them. Tonight im gonna try so hard .
