Whats up people? I found this forum after hearing about lucid dreaming and decided to look it up and ended up here

Anyway....i've been trying to lucid dream for a while now (using the WILD technique) but no success. Last night though, i think i came pretty close to pulling it off:

Went to sleep at 12:30 last night and woke at 4am this morning, decided to try and WILD. So i went to get a drink of water and kept my mind on lucid dreamin' for bout 15 mins before going back to bed. So i'm lying in bed and i feel myself gettin' closer to falling asleep but managed to keep my mind focused, yet still relaxed, and before i knew it, i was like...vibrating. Yeah, was kinda weird but thats what i was doing. Anyway, i tried to keep calm but it was startin to get really uncomfortable until i starting getting really weird visions and stuff, like colors ranging in size, and they where flying all over the place, then i heard a voice...A VOICE. Um wtf? So it freaks me out and i right away, pulled myself out of whatever i was in, and i felt a really hard jolt before i opened my eyes and everythin' was back to normal. So somethin definetly happened, but i freaked. So was i close?

      Hey there, welcome.

Yeah, you were doing pretty well there! If I were you though, I'd look into trying other techniques before jumping into WILD's . That's like begginer suicide. Doing things like reality checks and MILD until your pretty good and have developed your dream recall is always the best way to go. After all, what's the point in putting all the efort into a WILD and not being able to do anything in it? Or worse, not even remembering it?

Yeah, i just thought WILD was the easiest way, cause i see alot of people talkin' about it and figured its the way to go, but i'm gonna try and get better at dream recall by doing those reality checks and stuff, and then maybe come back to WILD later....or after last night....maybe not lol.

      Hey! Welcome to Dreamviews!

As D said, WILDs arent a great idea for beginners. The reason you see so many people talking about them is because they are the favoured method once mastered, but the most difficult to achieve. For a start Dream Recall, should it need improving, and DILDs are the way to go until you get the hang of it. Then move on to more advanced methods such as the WILD.

      Happy Dreaming!
