Post

Hi, I have just stumbled on to this page about 4 days ago. I have had an interest in dreams for a long time, but more on the symbolic aspects of them. A friend had told me about what his psychology professor called dream lucidity. I began to gain an interest in dream control and awareness. As my thirst for knowledge seemed unquenchable for this subject; I found this site. It answered tons and tons of questions I had about it and I'm very thankful for all of your folks help.

My name is Paden (Pay-den). I'm 20 years old and have started a dream journal dating to just a few days ago. I have been doing reality checks during the day and have been questioning the world around me in preparation for DL. I have read so much information in the last few days. I feel I am ready for it. I have had dream control before when I was younger and it's been scattered throughout my life. Lately, with the dream journal, doing reality checks, & questioning the world around me; my memory for my dreams has been growing. They are becoming more vivid and detailed. I am noticing things that I write in my journal as signs that I am dreaming... Lucidity is not far away. I can feel it.

Thanks again for all your help!

      Hi there, Paden!

It's interesting that you say you got on to the topic of lucidity by something your psych lecturer had. I found that when I took a psych paper last year, even though it was only a basic stage one first-year paper, there was still a fair bit of discussion about dreams. Psych courses seem to have a high "pulling power" for dreaming as a hobby.

Sounds like ypou're already well on your way, and that you've digested a fair bit of information by now, and that you're already seeing improvements - sweet.

I'll leave you to it, but if you need any help or have any questions, feel free to ask a DG by PM or post a thread or anything, really. It's a pretty helpful ccommunity we have here.

      Hi Paden

Seems you have a good understanding of what you are about to embark upon. Sounds as if you have the makings of a prolific LDer, should you stay the course. And I sincerely hope you do stay.

And questions, comments, complaints, or just need someone to talk with, private message me.

Welcome to Dream Views and hope to see more of you.

I think this sites been around for about 3 or 4 years if I remember correctly.

Of course, it's 2 am and I'm getting drowsy so I could be wrong....

      *edit*
Someone told me the forum was a couple or so years old and that was back when I joined. Don't know how long the Dream Views Index has been around for. Now you have me curious as to how old DV's really is.

Well, I think the forum has been around since June 2003, I believe. The original website (Which used to look WAY different to the current one), was started as a ?school? or university project by Icedawg, the (up until very recently) the head honcho of the site. That was a while before the forum was started. Basically, the forum was first started because icedawg was getting too many emails about the site and lucid dreaming to handle, so *poof* he made a forum, and yeah. It went from there. That's what I understand, at least. In the grand scheme of things, I'm relatively new here myself, though I've been here nearly a year now.
