So long dream short: I realise that I'm galloping through the air on a horse and I'm holding an axe, about to kill a minotaur. Well that's rather stupid so I reached up to plug my nose and immediately woke up. and there I was: sitting in my bed completely pissed off. So how do i stay asleep?

Tell me, were you in any way excited when you realised that you might just be dreaming? If so, that might be why. A way to combat this is by 'acting out' similar off situations and going though the feelings asociated and learning to stay calm. Sounds stupid, but it's really worked for me in the past.

Also, it sounds like a somewhat stressful situation to be in a dream at the best of times, without doing a reality check. Perhaps it was the events in the dream rahter than the reality check that did it?

Ya, I was excited. I was on a flying horse and realised I was dreaming. So how do I act out that situation? And yes it might have been that whether or not I had just done the reality check, that was the time I was going to wake up anyway. Also, I didn't have any control of the horse, just enough to lift my hand to my nose. If i did stay asleep and realised I was dreaming, what do I do then?
