Upon awakening after my intention is set, I can usually remember half to a full page of memories dealing with the dream, and I don't even write full sentences I usually write something like...

      "At University/Jeremy was there/felt lonely/bright sun/ etc..."

...and if I wanted to I could go on for a long time writing down stuff relating to the dream. One entry took me a little over a page of an exercise book and I was at for 10 or 15 minutes just straight writing. Is this normal or am I just crazy?

      If I could find you
And tell you about my life
      Or maybe just write
And remind you of when we would dream...

Well, there really is no definite size for a dream journal entry...just write down what you remember in the dream, such as places, people, activities, emotions and bascially anything else that you recall.

Back when I kept a dream journal, there were some nights where I had 3 dreams that only took up one page. While other nights I would have dreams that took 4,5,6, or more pages to write down....man they got really long sometimes. But I usually write everything in full detail and complete sentences, so that's one reason they were so long.

I see your lucid age is 0-2 months, so don't worry about length of dreams, just make sure to write down all that you can. Trust me, after 6 to a year, you'll be having some crazy long dreams...heh

There's no point in trying to omit details from dream journal entries, the point is to salvage as much info as you can before your brain moves it to the bottom of your memory. Having your experiences on paper like this is good practice for getting those memories back, which is why it's good to reread your dream journal every so often.

How long is a piece of string.
Our dreams are firsthand creations, rather than residues of waking life. We have the capacity for infinite creativity.

Yes, there is no right length. I wouldn't omit anything and write it out 100% as if you do then
your recall will be much better. It is ok to write down key words when you wake up as a memory
aid to help you recall but then use those later to write everything down you can. It's not really a
huge amount of time to put in 15-30mins or so and when you read back through your journal
later it will be a lot more meaningful and bring those memories back to you better again on
the re-read 6 months later A lot of my journal entries read like mini stories as there is lot of
detail of everything I could recall.

      Good Luck,

      Namaste

i'd say you have a better method of writing your dreams down than me, I write my dreams down like im writing it for someone else like, "I was walking along a road and saw a rabbit in the ditch, then I killed it"
in your wildest dreams you couldn't picture a bogan like me, haha

I would suggest writing key point right after you wake up so you will not forget the whole dream. aslo i usually just write what i remember and that is my dream entry. Good luck with you Lucid Dreaming

Yeah, I usually think about the whole dream and jot down anything cool towards the end. If I just start writing from the beginning, by the time I get to the end of the dream Ive usually forgotten it.

also, you can make titles for your dreams, so when you write the title you can move on and come back to it and when you read the title your dream comes back to you

      this works for me.

Congrats - sounds like you have a natural talent from dream recall!

What works best for me is to use notepad to jot down key points for each dream memory in my own shorthand style of writing.

Actual pen + paper writing is way to slow for me. not to mention my handwriting is horrendous upon waking

Much of the time 10-15 lines sum up a dream but occasionally I can type up about half a page or nearly a full page.
