How do you send messages while awake that plays when your dreams start playing?

The easiest thing would be becoming lucid and remembering.

"Incubation" is one technique for setting up dreams. A search on that should bring up some good reading.

I guess my reply would be the same--incubation. Pretty much just really really think about how you want your dream to play out or whatever right before you go to sleep. I'm not sure what kinds of "messages" you mean, though. Like, "I will fly in my dream" you just lay there while falling asleep and repeat that over and over in your mind. I usually tack on something like: "I will have a LD. I will remember it. I will fly in my LD." over and over again.

what are you talking about? I was saying leaving a message that as soon a dream starts a message like "You're dreaming dumbass think of something to do" starts playing in your mind.[/b]
Ah... now THAT's the trick, isn't it?

Nothing I've tried works. If it did, I'd have LDs every night, every dream.

Huh. It works for me. I don't know why it doesn't work for you. And sorry I obviously offended you by my lack of movie knowledge.

DISREGARD WHAT I HAVE SAID FROM THE EARLIER REPLY.

I was saying leaving a message such as "You're dreaming, check you're not dreaming, think of something to do. YOU'RE DREAMING!" starts playing in the mind as the dream starts. Saying to myself over and over again "I will have a lucid dream" doesn't work.

Saying anything over and over again never changes anything. It's like telling information to one's self over and over again. It works if that person keep saying it over and over, but then something destracts the person and they end up forgetting what they were saying. Although if the person while hearing the information concentrates on rememering the information while recieving it, thinks about it afterwards for a few minutes, and when the person needs the information the person could focus on pulling it out of the mental archives. (I might of answered my own question.)

I could concentrate on the words and a reminder to play the message as soon I see something. The clue maybe a problem. Must of the time when people remember information is because someone had asked a question to extract the information or they have seen or heard something that reminds them of the information and it comes up. To have information come up from a chosen unrelated clue is more difficult.
But it is possible.

That scene is from 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' from the book 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. The movie 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' is the one with Johnny Depp. I was not offended I just thought you wanted to know.

When I figure out how to think of information then have it play at a chosen unrelated event, such as a start of a dream; I'll make sure to tell everyone how to do it.

Most of what all this is about is finding ways to associate things in dreams in a way that we can recognize and remember - and thus become lucid, obviously.

One method somebody here once mentioned that seemed great was teaching DCs to tell him he was dreaming, or assigning one to appear in all his dreams so he would recognize and remember.

I once manifested a big blue butterfly that was supposed to keep coming back to me as a reminder in my dreams. It never returned though.

Searching around the different techniques and experiences of those who have high success rates will bring up some interesting and creative ways people pull off what you seem to be asking for.

Good luck, and definitely let us know what works!!!
