Hey guys im new here and im really interested in lucid dreaming, I got here because ive been wondering how astral projection works because it seems very insteresting and i figured out its almost the same thing as lucid dreaming so i found this site and now it seems that lucid dreaming is much more cooler than astral projction so i really wanna be a lucid dreamer . I came here two nights ago and have been trying to lucid dream scince then, two nights ago i was really excited that i was going to lucid dream and i fully convinced myself that id remember my dreams and i kept doing reality checks in real life. I had decided i was gunna try to WILD because it seemed effective. I slept and woke up after 5 hours and i thought really hard if i had any dreams but nothing came up so i browsed these forums for 30 minuted and went to bed to try to WILD. I felt my body going numb and i felt strange sensations on my body which i thought was really cool, I was using the breathing technique and when i got to around 450 inhales i was counting random numbers in my head and little sounds that i could barely hear were now amplified and i could hear the screeching in my head which was actually my dads soothing music disorted in my ears and then i started becoming aware again and i thought i screwed up so i propped myself up and gave up . I decided to sleep normally and remember some dreams... When i woke up and thought a bit i realized i had remembered 4 dreams!, thats 4 more dreams than i usually remember I quickly recorded these in my journal. The first three dreams were short and i never went lucid but on my last dream there was a part where i wa sstanding in a sotre and suddenly im like "Am i dreaming?" but i made the error of not doing a reality check and i turned around and did a long jump... When i landed i lost control the dream just went on. Last night i tried to WILD again but incresed my awake time to 40 minutes but i ended up giving up around 250 because i was very uncomfortable in different ways and when i went to sleep and woke up i didnt recall a single dream . Are there any suggestions for a better or more effective method i could use? im really excited and im glad i found you guys and this site, thanks! (Sorry if this is so long im still kinda excited)

Hey man, This is a great site to unleash your Luciding Abilities. As for WILD'ing, I would wait a while to try that, I've been here for about 3 weeks and i havn't gotten it right. But if your focused on WILD's theyre are some great tutorials. Go to the tutorial section and scroll down until you see the WILD Tutorial by Billy Bob 001 i think. I think it's the best WILD tutorial. As for other techniques, try the wbtb method ( wake back to bed). It's were you go to sleep for 5-7 hours and wake up for 30-60 minutes. While awake go to this site and read random posts or read anything lucid-dreaming related, it supposibly helps. When you go back to bed, sit and count your breaths till, say 150. We dont want you to do a WILD, just be relaxed enough to get to sleep. While going to sleep you can do a MILD or a FILD, maybe some other. But a fild works better when you wake up from the REM sleep. I suggest doing a WBTB and a MILD tonite. Also read the FILD tutorial by Hargarts, its a pretty easy technique. Hope this helps =X

Oooo.. Thanks for these other methods Riff!, ive never heard of a FILD and i read it and it seems pretty simple i will definitely try that tonight along with other basic techniques for backup

Ok, last night i tried MILD till i fell asleep. I kept randomly waking up during the night and i did a reality check everytime because im already in the habit of it, but everytime i realize im awake and then i try to recall some dreams but nothing comes up and i go back to bed. At some point i tried FILD but i fell asleep fairly quickly. The first night i tried lucid dreaming i remembered 4 dreams but these past 2 days are dissapointing with no more dreams
