Hello everyone,

Up until about a week ago i never really remembered many of my dreams at all. Last week i stumbled across the concept of lucid dreaming on an unrelated forum and i was immediately intrigued, so i did a little googling...

I found Dream Views to be a very straightforward and logically set out source of information on the subject and that night i started a dream journal. I was amazed to recall pieces of three dreams that night (quite strange as well&#33. I am eager to explore the kooky depths of my dreamworld and hopefully attain lucidity.

I will be posting my dream journal on this forum shortly, so if your up for some light entertainment stay tuned. Any comments or pointers along the way would be most appreciated.

      Cheers

      Packmania

p.s. I've just started reading Stephen LaBerge's "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" as a starting point. Anyone else read it?

      Hello,

Stephen Laberge's Exploring the World Of Lucid dreaming is the lucid dreamer's bible. Practically everybody here has got it or read a part of it (tutorials are often stolen from it). I look forward to seeing your dream journal.

Not me. I refuse to be with the pack

Seriously though Pacmania. Definitely check out the tutorials section. Personally, I think you should start with some kind of self-suggestion method (HILD, MILD, Reality Checks with autosuggestion built in), and do lots of Reality Checks, as these are foolproof tried and true methods that will produce an LD for almost everyone. Try out other techniques too and have fun. A happy dreamer is a good dreamer (and yes that was supposed to be corny as hell)

p.s. cool name, get yourself a matching cool avatar and you're my bud.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys

Yeah i've read through some of the tutorials and have started using a couple, mainly trying to improve my recall. I've started doing reality checks, but they haven't carried over into my dreams yet. I am still having to conciously remind myself to do them, any tips for getting them ingrained in my subconcious? I suppose i should just keep doing them over and over til they get stuck in there but i'm open to shortcuts!

I wouldn't really know since I'm a natural and become lucid automaticly . What I can tell you is that you need to have repition (hope I spelled that right). Just keep asking yourself if you're awake or use any method you want, and after awhile, It'll become a habbit and you'll do it in your dreams as well

My advice is don't take any shortcuts. If you want you can set yourself an hourly beep on your watch or something to remind you but even then don't just make it a habitual thing that you quickly do. When the quality of Reality Checks drops, then they don't transfer nearly as well, and it allows for human error, and missing obvious signs. Though you need to make a habit out of RCing, you can't make it a subconcious habitual pattern (like cracking fingers or something), as you must pay attention to what you're doing for them to work.
