Been reading these forums for about 2 weeks now and finally decided I should start posting. Ever since finding out about LD (In a Star Trek Voyager episode, lol) ive been fascinated by it. Ive read through these forums for hours and hours now, all the tutorials and posts about peopels experiences, and the whole thing excites me. Wish I had found out about LD sooner. Ive also read through Stephen LaBerge's first book "Lucid Dreaming" which I picked up second hand for like 3 bucks and went through all the most important material in it, and his more popular second book just arrived in the mail.

I have yet to have my first LD but I woke up the other night in SP and lost it due to excitement, and have yet to be in that situation again since. However, I have been averaging out to one dream a night I can remember, and have been recording them in my dream journal. I am waking up in the middle of my sleep cycles (Not with SP, except for the one time) but am unable to enter into a WILD. It takes me a while to fall asleep and I find if I am focusing hard on trying to WILD I just can't fall asleep period. As for DILD, I am constantly doing reality checks throughout the day by looking at my watch or hands, and have made myself a few dream signs to watch for but I am so passive in my sleep I never am able to do these things while dreaming. Even if I have the most bizzare dreams I fail to recognize anything of it in my sleep. So any advice would be great, but keep in mind I have read most of what there is to know for begginers. Anyways, I plan to keep trying as long as it takes, and glad to see such a great community out there for LD.

Hey,

Sounds like you are doing most of the right kinds of things. It can take a while to get anything so you will have to be patient - but it is certainly worth it - especially when you get the longer more in-control LD's.

You are doing the recall well and keeping a journal so that is good you will definately need good recall so
that you can remember your LD's after you wake up. Keep going with the recall

The RC's are very useful - I focused on the hand RC and that has been very accurate for me to RC when I become lucid to check You need to get a lot of sleep and having an attention to recall and to LD before you sleep might be helpful. Sometimes not wanting it too much can help, keep doing all you are doing and just relax on the timing you will get the LD and you might get it sooner - that happened to me at one point.

You should keeping trying techniques. I have never managed to WILD but I have done a FILD which seems
so much easier without the Wildness of the WILD - I just went straight in - no fuss

Good Luck, I am sure you will manage it if you keep going

I have only had 8 LD's in over a year of trying - it can be slow going for some and fast/easy for natural LDers.

Hi there Awakener and welcome to the forum

You've definately come to the right place to help with Lucid Dreaming. Here's the link to the Tutorials Section That has all your needed information.

I also recommend you start with a MILD and WBTB method as they really help newbies and are easy to do.

Enjoy

Well, you have a good start, that's for sure! You've already had SP once, so at least now you know what it's "like". SP gets progressively easier to handle the more one experiences it. Also, your dream recall sounds good, like Namaste said. One dream a night is enough for LD techniques, but more is always better!

Welkommen to ze Dreem Views, zah.
