My name is Kyle and I am trying to train my mind to become lucid at least once a week. I did some reading about 5 days ago and was really excited to try it out. The first night I was so excited to fall asleep and try out some reality checks. Before I knew it I was awake and couldn't remember a single thing. I wasn't really upset or anything because I figured I needed to just practice a bunch. I did a lot more reading and decided that I would try and keep a dream journal. I was very skeptical that I would be able to remember any of my dreams. The first night with my dream journal I remembered two dreams. I was very excited. The next night I had four that I could clearly remember. I am a student so I have to wake up early. I figured this would make it harder to remember my dreams because if I would continue to lay in the position I was when I woke up, I would be back asleep within seconds. That might be good for MILD but it's more important that I get ready for school. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is take a shower. The morning that I remembered two different dreams both came to me while I was half asleep taking a shower. The next morning, all 4 of those dreams came to me while taking a shower. This morning, I didn't take a shower, and didn't remember a single dream. I'm not saying the showers are what make me remember my dreams, but the fact that I'm still in a somewhat dreamlike state when I'm taking the shower.I still am having dreamlike thoughts. For example, the most random things like wondering if I could balance a banana on the corner of a toilet paper roll. This morning when I woke up, I went straight downstairs and started eating so I was fully awake. I'm really excited about this and really hope I can get a lucid dream in the near future. I'm also looking forward to being "adopted" in 1 week and 6 days!!

Thanks for having this great site where I can come and get help if I need it.

How long was from the time you started trying to have lucid dreams until the time you actually do?
