Hey, call me Dynamo (Dy, Dyne, etc >_>). I'm new as of yesterday, and as I look around the site and the forum, I really like this place, so nice job admin
Anyways, I've been into lucid dreaming for about a year now. At first, I just came across it and didn't believe it was real....until i had one myself! It was very short, but i got some flying in. It opened my eyes to lucid dreaming, and ever since, ive been addicted to researching it. Of course, summer came and went by, and I gradually dropped the subject for a bit. Now, about a week ago, I'm right back in it. I've explored the net and found a lot of new information that made me love psychology all over again.
I'm in the ninth grade currently and am an honors student. I've been recommended to go to a Governor School for either Science or Entrepreneurship, but they expect a "resume" to get in, with a lot of stuff I have done and accomplished in the past few years. Since I am interested in 4 subjects (Psychology, Programming, Cosmology, and Inventing) I decided to complete a project on my own for each. By the way, Cosmology is the study of the universe, not hair -_-;
For my psychology portion, I decided to make a site dedicated to Lucid Dreaming, however I don't feel as if I am educated enough to make one just yet. I wanted to get about 10 people new to lucid dreaming and see how long it would take them to learn about lucid dreaming, then see how long it was until they had their first LD, and then, as the final part, see how long it takes them to have 2-3 in the same week. So, sort of an experiment to compare data. Yet, before I can TEACH Lucid Dreaming, I must learn it!
Anyways, looking around the site, I like the variety of members and information and I am quite impressed. I'll enjoy spending time here learning and asking questions until I feel as though I am answering more than asking. Hopefully, by summer, I'll be book-smart enough to kick off my experimental site, though I'll still be here.
A few things really quick:
1) Is there a board for debates? I love to argue in a formal manner; debating is one of my favorite things to do, especially when they involve theories.
2) I still don't *quite* get the whole adoption process. If you could post a link to a lot of information about it, it would be greatly appreciated.
3) Whoever kicked off this site, and those who are helping to run it, I hope to meet you guys for I respect your job in keeping this site for ... however many years it has been up!
4) By the way, though I am in ninth grade, i turned 15 quite a while ago, so no worries about me being 14 still.
Well, I'm off to read the rules of the boards and get started on some things. I'll try to keep a dream journal, but I won't be trying to go lucid until summer (im too stressed right now). I guess this will be a good time to build my recall up. *gets out notebook*
