      Interested from Africa

Hi all, just wanna note my arrival... im 21 and have been LDing for about 7 years. It is only recently what Lucid Dreaming was... since then my experiences have reached a new heightened level... with this current reality and its rules i find a sense of freedom in LDing or as i like to call it, true reality

Just would like to learn more about what makes up LDing and how to work out if it has anything to do with the increase of electricty in my brain

      thanks all

      K7

Electricity in your brain, id say that you would have increased brain activity but i do not know the proper definition of brain activity and the energy behind it. In dreams your heart rate can rise, breathing become short and shallow so in general it would increase alot of bodily functions, your dream is being created by your mind if its a dream and that would take alot of mental power to produce and sustain. As for doing things in ludic dreams such as creating things, doing the paranormal and such, i do not know if they require more mind power or such

hope i could offer some help.....there are alot of members here who have fountains of knowledge to share with you,

      welcome to the forum mate,

When i sleep sometimes i move around alot and drift in and out of sleep.... also i am a lightsleeper.

The surge in electricty in my brain happens when i make a connection or have audio-visual stimulation... could it be a chemical imbalance or some miswiring on my brains side eh ? those doctor types never bode well with me.

Hello Kay, Welcome to the forum! :aphiusisonecrazySOB:

I don't know much of anything about the inner workings of the brain, so I don't think I can help you...

I watched it yesterday for the first time too, and thought it was completely mind blowing...I'll see if I can find a topic about this, there has to be one...

it is a great film well made and thought-out aswell. plus it beats most of movies hollywood has been making lately.

The one thing about how time is all messed (clocks dont work in the movie) this interests me though... i have only ever tried to look @ my watch once in a dream, with no luck... though sometimes words are constant and logikal...

another weird short film is the last esp. of Animatrix (:::: called 'matriculated' not so much into the philosophical but merely for the splendid artwork actually cancel that... the entire dvd is grand... much preferred it to the matrix series

thanks man, how did you find that film on an objective level... i think they tried to cater for both sides of the fence yet looked to push the envelope more then your average movie.

What do you mean both sides of the fence, what issue are you refering too?

As you no doubt are aware of, they tackle many many issues and subjects in the movie, so you're going to have to be a bit more specific...

well you get some 'dreamers' who have little faith in technology whilst others see a more coperation between science and dreaming. Also even though it was a movie with a semi-script it seemed to me that most of the people who could lucid were anti-globalisation... seeing technology as a thief of the imagination. (although i never did pass flim studies so this could be WAY off).

remember that guy who burnt himself ? he couldnt get his message out so he used a action. those 4 guys who were walking in the street speaking about this and that... they come across that old guy who has climbed up a pole... basically he has action but no theory whilst they are all theory no action...

      Sorry if my thought process weaves a bit, i like random thought process (;

Those were actually some of my favorite segments of the film.

They showed it on cable again last night and, of course, I watched it again. I really identify with what the burning guy, the four guys that met the guy in the pole and the guy that was yelling from his car are trying to say. I can tell you I feel the same way as they do.

I don't know if they were as much against technology as much as they were against out current society, agains having to conform and answer to the powers that be. Against the current slavery we are in.

There were others that said they wanted to get rid of technology and other commodities, but practically for the same reason. They lead us away from the true purpose of life, whatever it might be. They distract us and make us sell ourselves and our time to the system in order to be able to purchase them. The truth is we don't really need them, they don't make us any more complete...

Well if you look at technology now, you would think it would save us time... yet people are always saying 'if only i had more time' to me the years seem to be flying away, i guess one can never get away from progression... if only that progression was directed in a meaningful way to help better society rather then throw it into chaos

The thing is some technology is made to assist us and make our lives easier. Other is just oriented in distracting us, or entertaining us, etc. There are many things we truly do not need in our lives, things which real purpose is to make someone richer. We sell our lives in order to buy such items. That is the point I am trying to make.

I am not talking about technology such as vacuum cleaners, microwaves, etc. I am rather talking about T.V, Video games, etc. They don't really make us more complete, but really rather distract us and are just a way of wasting our lives...

      A'hoy hoy,

I would say I am well versed in neuroscience..

But after reading this thread, I am still a little unsure as to what you are referring to with the "electricity in my brain"? (I can't help but be reminded of A Silver Mt. Zion - an orchestra/band many have not heard of..)

The surge in electricty in my brain happens when i make a connection or have audio-visual stimulation... could it be a chemical imbalance or some miswiring on my brains side eh ? those doctor types never bode well with me.
Is the audio-visual stimulation during sleep? What stage of sleep? What do you feel and where is it when this happens?

Also, going out on a limb before I get your answers, do you find you have quick reflexes? And do you wear glasses?

I hate to sound like a doctor in asking as well but, do you take any medication?

Look forward to hearing from you[/quote]

      Hi O'nus

I'm fairly new to the site and was just reading the 'memorable topics' section and the bit relating to you...

Did you receive the test results, etc? Whats happening?

You might be sick of the questions.. perhaps theres a topic somewhere I missed?

I am requesting that I can post the results onto that thread from the moderators right now.. It is slightly extensive, so I apologize for not posting it here, but it is out of respect for the consistency of the thread.

Keep an eye on the thread. And thank you kindly for your concern - I assure you I am fine now.

      Thanks

Yes i do have extremely quick relexes, though i do not wear glass's i should. it doesnt happen at all during sleep... during the day mostly and is triggered by 'signs' most of the time pertaining to death/life eg: when i hear of certain people being killed it might occur so i know that 'the circle' was part of it. some of the times when i have a 'futuristic' dream the next day it happens quite alot, feels almost like an electrical storm... sometimes i can happen for upto 10seconds or more.

What do you mean by "electrical storm"? A bad headache? Does it hurt? Does it feel like it is inside the head? On the surface? Where on the head?

Possibly abnormal synaptic firing due to your sleep patterns, most likely. I am not sure, this is something that would require more information. Sorry for all the questioning, but it is just vague for such a complex organ

How is your sleeping? How often do you usually sleep? Have you been feeling stressed lately?

Hmm.. I think that will do for now - it is a lot of questioning, sorry, but it is hard to give a proper guess about what the problem is with text only. I hope you understand.

      ~

No no its is a good thing. .. it is a sensation that goes all around the brain and sometimes into my body. .. like i said audio/visual things trigger it alot as to my sleeping well its about 7/8 hours on average maybe less, when it is less i might have an 1hours nap in the afternoon. i just heard some where i might be linked to a schoziofrenic (spelling) disorder or something.

why did you ask about the quick reflexes and need for glass's ? does this include increased memory storeage/recall ? im just a bit weary of the doctor side of things had an ECG once and been that whole route... i normally get sick for at least 2 months of winter and generally have had poor health but in the least 2 years i havent been sick and my lifestyle hasnt changed...
