Hi Everyone.. yes another newbie. Break out the bubbly. Turn on the tunes. Oh.. and try not to fall asleep, before the intro is finished, k? Thanks!

I'm new to lucid dreaming, but definately not to frequent, vivid dreams. I remember my dreams 99% of the time and they are very, very detailed and vivid. I can often remember buttons on shirts, how many on the shirt, how many holes each button had (2 or 4 mostly), what color they were, if one was loose or not. A number of times I started writing my dreams down so I wouldnt forget them, but I am not doing that as regularly as I should. I remember my dreams in sequence. I remember anywhere from 2 to 4 dreams per night, depending on the length of them or if they run together or are completely different in subject matter. I rarely have nightmares, but do have dreams that are very emotional at times and I am crying in my dream and wake in a full emotional weeping marathon!

I had my first lucid dream on April 14th and was completely thrilled when it was done. I was amazed at the 'rush' of empowerment I felt during it and upon 'waking'. I felt like I 'bounced' from dreamstate, to waking and then back to dreaming just before I realized I was dreaming again.. only this time I knew it. (Sorry, I am sure you all hear this story everyday, but its exciting to me, cuz its new~) I was in awe at my surroundings, which just warped from one thing to another as I thought of it. The first thing I decided to do with my new 'powers' in dreamstate? Fly? No. Swim? No. Do something amazing and incredible? Nope. I drew a fish. Yeah, I know.. lol, dorky. I drew a fish with a white piece of chalk and after drawing it I wanted it to be a different color, so it became blue and purple. It was big, like 3 or 4 feet wide and high.. then I tapped it to push it and it moved.. it started to swim in the sky. I remember being so happy about it, completely astonished that I MADE that happen. The dream progressed as I decided I wanted "answers" to some questions I am having in my waking life. I was asking around about some events in my life, asking for someone I knew to come forward and talk with me. Random friends came into my mind, and of course then appeared in my dream, but all of them referred me to someone named "Jason". Odd, because I don't know anyone by that name. I have one co-worker named Jason, but that is it and I asked if they meant him and I was told 'no'. So I stopped asking and decided to just walk and look around, thinking I would do or think of something that would encourage my own answers to my questions, but the name "Jason" kept coming up, in my mind or in a whisper. Very strange.

Anyway, my first lucid experience was short, but fantastic. I look forward to future lucid dreams and have decided to be more disciplined in my dream recording now as well. I have read through the website over the last couple nights and have decided to register on the forum to see if it helps my education in this area of dreams and to explore others' experience. Thanks for having me and sweet dreams to all!

      Welcome! (You're the 10,317th member)

Your dream recall ability is amazing. I'm jealous of you!

In either case keeping a dream journal is a good idea to remember and sort your dreams in the long term. It sounds like you will be able to get down lucid dreaming very quickly with your abilities. Good luck, and check out the adoption program and tutorials if you want help or need new ideas.

      Welcome again, and happy dreaming.

Thanks Squall.. and thanks to Gwen for the pm welcome to the forum. I see that there are a number of people who post on here daily, and in two days, I have only heard from TWO members, lol... interesting! I hope my presence here is appreciated, as I intend to grow and learn from everyone who cares to share and be open. I know its hard to sort the newbies from the flybys.. but, hey.. here's looking for those with faith!!

Thanks again to those that notice new footprints in the mist!!

Actually, that was the best first lucid dream story ever! They usually go something like:

Well I saw something strange and thought, 'maybe I'm dreaming... yeah I'm dreaming!' but then I woke up. It's pretty hazy and I don't remember what came before, but it was cool.[/b]
And I'm with Squall... you're such a talented whipper snapper... I'm jealous too. My first lucid dream also had fish in the sky--whales actually--floating on by like clouds... but I can't take credit for them because I didn't create them :-(

Hello, I'd welcome you to the boards but I'm new here myself! I too have always had really vivid dreams, although I haven't been lucky enough to experience a LD yet. I constantly see dreamsigns but I can never recognize that I'm actually in a dream... I always accept anything, no matter how crazy or impossible, as normal. Here's to hoping that the answer lies somewhere in these forums.

Anyways good luck in finding a technique that works well for you!

Thanks O! You and I will be reaching our "adoption" period at the same time in a week or so, that should be fun. However I don't think I am adoption material.. hell I'm 32!!! I think half of the members on this site are young enough to be my children **Sighs** yep, I feel pretty old about now. Watch out for granny!!!

      Cool

      Hi Mercurial,

Glad you found the site. Your recall and experience with LDing so far sounds very interesting. Did you start up a journal on DreamViews, I think it would make interesting reading. Hey! 32 isn't old! I am almost 30 and I still think of that as very young so don't shatter my illusions I think we have many younger members because younger peeps are more open minded and are not set in their unbelieving brains as many of the older folks! Lucid Dreaming is cool. I am just getting back onto the site after a month off So starting up my journal again to get that recall back to normal

Good Luck with the LDing - DV is a cool site and there are some great people here!

      hey guys,
im not too sure on where to post this coz im a newbie too and dunno if there is a special thread for this - but i really need help on how to have more control once you are lucid.

i have had a good few lucid dreams now, and completely love it. however the last few instances i am lucid but can only control my actions - like flying, walking, speaking etc i cannot seem to choose a new place to go, or a person i want to see to come around the corner. so the lucidity is pretty short lived and although exhilarating, also frustrating cos i wanna get better and try some of the mad things i see in this forum but not sure what to do.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Try posting in Dream Control and that will get you more replies as your request is a bit hidden here.

I have only had 8 lucids - half of them I wasn't in any kind of control. The one that I had most control
in I was able to take control alot more. I think the difference was that I was more comfortable and
relaxed in having lucids by then, believing that I could do it and expecting to see what it was that I
was trying to imagine. I think that it is something that we just have to practice

If you post in the Dream Control area you will probably get some of the very experienced Lucid members
answering your question and I am sure they would have something more specific than me but I hope that
      it helped a bit!
