Issues With Dream Recall

Last night, while trying to sleep, I constantly repeated "I'm gonna wake up during a dream and record it." Well i went to sleep, had a dream, and woke up and wrote it. Then I fell asleep again and had another dream and recorded it. Then I woke up for the morning and I felt weird. So I checked my dream journal and it was blank... I had woken up in my dream and recorded my dream in my dream ... How do I prevent this?

Do reality checks when you fill in journal.

Perhaps you could draw something on the front inside cover of the journol. If it's there, exactly right, you aren't dreaming. And, for the record, I've done similar things, so I know how it can get frustrating.

Aren't you kind of missing the forest for the trees? The reason you record stuff in your dream journal is to help you recognize Dream Signs, so you can do a reality check when you see one in your dream. You should be doing a reality check every time you wake up... if you had multiple false awakenings in one night, you could have had multiple Lucid Dreams. Unless you'd rather write about your dreams than have Lucid Dreams, or something...
