Thread: A few questions about LDs

I just have a few questions about lucid dreams.

1. Can you actually feel objects?
2. Can you feel pain?
3. Can you feel things that you have never felt in real life? For example, if I want to have sex in an LD, and I haven't had sex in real life, can I still experience it?
4. Do LDs actually feel real?
5. Is there any danger involved with LDing?

If you can answer any of these, thanks in advance!

2. I've heard some yes, a lot say there is less pain
3. Sure! People fly in their dreams. Your brain makes the possibilities limitless.
4. Depends, if you ever experience them you might find some are indistinguishable besides obvious reality checks

the main thing to remember is that it's your own mind you're dealing with - what can't you do?

I haven't experienced one yet but I'm on my way and I'm just passing the word from what I've read on these boards. Start a dream journal and get in the habit of making reality checks. Good luck bro.

1) Yes you can, ofcourse it depends on how vivid the dream is though.
2) Yup you can, but don't worry it's not going to be life threatening pain.
3) Yup you can. It's amazing how your mind works, it usually decides on how the object/event should feel and then compensate for it.
4) Depends on how vivid the dream is, some dreams feel real and some don't.
5) No there's no danger, well no more then normal dreams.

3. Yes - like Bortolazzo said. The fantasy can even be better than the reality!
4. From dreamy/foggy to hyper-lucid larger-than-life.
5. No more danger than regular dreaming. Some mild frustration can occur during a dry spell. There's a theoretical 'risk' of becoming obsessed / addicted if you have that personality type (which is true for pretty much anything). You may also bore your friends with tales of your nocturnal adventures. Some may get jealous - others may even worry that you are doing something freaky/cultish.

Search the forums - all these questions have been discussed at length, with much better answers than I've given here.
