If you are intent on DILDing, which is recognising a dream sign in a dream, and then becoming lucid, you'll just have to keep at it. I frequently have dreams in which nothing makes sense, and I don't notice it.

The best thing for you to do is to look through your Dream Journal for some re-occuring elements. If you don't have a Dream Journal, start one now. It's vital. When you've narrowed it down to 2 or 3 things that appear very often in your dreams, memorize them. Whenever you see these things, do a quick RC by trying to change the time on your watch with will, or counting your fingers. Do it even if you are 100% certain you're awake, as the point is to make it a habit. Eventually, when you come across the thing in a dream, you'll do an RC and realize you're dreaming.

It could also be that DILDs just don't agree with you. Try out some of the other techniques, such as WILDS, MILDS, or a combination of WBTB and any of the techniques. There are excellent tutorials all over the forums, so look around.

An easy way to explain this is pushing against a piece of rubber. The longer you go the harder it gets, but eventaully the rubber will snap and you'll fly forwards with no resistance.

Doing it the first time is the hardest, after that it should get easy. Just keep trying for that first one. Everyone had dreams that make no sense and we don't recognize them. In part because our RC work, but the odd things aren't part of it. If you reality check is pushing one hand through the other that may fail as you float 5 feet in the air. Floating wasn't part of your check so you'll never know.

I have that also. Still I just like dream in my dream that I am in a very dark space where you hear your voice twice, I panic in the beginning (what is not good) and then I realize that if I maybe go to sleep in my dream I may wake up. Then when I do that I wake up. I had this dream 4 times... (I think it was my first lucid dream because I realized that it was a dream)

      I hope I didn't do anything wrong.

You can try too put your alarmclock on in the night (underneath your pillow if you have family members in the house) and let it wake you up with a soft ring, when you go and try to sleep add the time that it takes you to go to sleep to 4.5 hours. I tell you, you start to realize then in your dream that you are dreaming.

      Good luck!
