      Howdy

Howdy, not sure how I ended up here, but I'm here

I rarely remember dreams anymore, but I do think that I have had some that are semi-lucid. When I realized they were lucid I quickly woke up, so couldnt do much.

Anyways, last night I started reading and today I finished reading all of the posts in the tutorials section.

I am going to start with reality checks frequently (I am trying the plug your nose and try to breathe method at the moment) and I am going to start a dream journal since at the moment I dont recall my dreams well enough.

Any other tips for a newbie?

      Thanks,
      Michael

      Hey, Welcome to DreamViews!

I find the nose RC is a really good one. The tutorials were a really good place to start. An really good book to read would be 'Exploring the World of Lucid Dreams' by Stephan LaBerge. Apparently its like the dream bible around here. Just since reading the first excersize last night, I remembered eight dreams (I havn't had very good recall for the past little while) and in one I almost became lucid! (I asked someone if I was dreaming, but forgot to do a reality check.)

Other than that I can't really help you out a whole lot. Thanks for joining.

Hi there Michael and to the forum.

Well you seem to be on the right track, a dream journal is a must if you rearely remember dreams also it helps to recognize dream signs.

Reality checks work well too, I prefer the finger through the hand technique myself, its just fun to do in a lucid.

Anyway good luck and have a great trip into your subconscious.

There are two books if I am seeing things correctly:

Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming (1991)
      --Howard Rheingold

      Lucid Dreaming (1986)
      --Stephen Laberge

Which would yall suggest, I am going to order one on half.com today.

ETWOLD was written by *both* Reingold and LaBerge, wasn't it?

I'm buying "ETWOLD" (the later one). I did look at both of them; my memory says the later one was based fairly heavily on the earlier one, so that there'd be little point in getting both. I could be wrong.

Yeah, I kind of got that impression as well, that 'ETWOLD' is based on 'Lucid Dreaming'. I think I will go ahead and pick that one up, its only a few bucks online.
