      Question HILDs

      http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=6214

Isn't self-hypnosis dangerous while practiced without a professional assistant? Also, should I do it all with my eyes closed? Lying? Sitting down?

      cheers

      Hi,

I myself have never heard that hypnosis or self-hypnosis can be dangerous. So maby someone else with more knowledge on this subject could provide more information.
I read the technique and it says that it doesn't matter how you do it, as long as you're comfortable enough. I'm guessing that it's easyer to visualize or imagine with your eyes closed. So I'd close my eyes and lay down if I tryed it.

      Hope I helped a little.

ok! thanks! I think this technique could help me much because I feel that my subconscious is very active. But I'm afraid I'll enter a trance-state where I can't get back to reality :S Maybe I'm just misinformed...

I've tried HILD, and I doubt it could send you into that deep of a trance state. In fact, I've never heard of a trance state so deep that you can't exit it. If you're still worried, set an alarm clock for fifteen minutes later, and that should break you out of any level of trance that that method could induce.

self-hypnosis isn't dangerous. In fact, you already do it to yourself multiple times a day. For example, you know when your "in the zone"... like when you watch TV? That is hypnosis. There is nothing dangerous about it... as long as you don't give yourself harmful suggestions.

HILD really works better with the hypnosis MP3's.
It puts you into a deep state of trance, tells you that you will have vivid, long lucid dreams, then takes you out.

They can be found in the Lucid Aids section of the forums.
