New to the Study of Lucid Dreams

      Hi

I have recently started learning about Lucid Dreams. I was wondering if it is "normal" to be a consistent lucid dreamer (I lucid dream about 15 times each month)?

Furthermore, I was wondering if anyone else can choose what to have their subconscious or conscious decide the path of the dream. Also, if it is "normal" to decide when to interrupt a dream with you conscious.

I can remember these dreams from as early as five. I am currently eighteen and I have had Lucid Dreams as long as I can remember.

      Thank You.

      Yes. There are natural LDers.

Fifteen times a month is a lot.

Yes, controlling the dream is part of lucidity.

      Yes, it's normal.

      Welcome to the forums!

      Welcome!

15 times a month! Man, that is at the high end of what I can do. You must be a natural!

I wouldn't consider any of that normal, but rather extraordinary! You, my friend, are what they call a natural, and are one lucky SOB

As you will learn if you stick around there are many things that you can effect in LD's and you can also work on your control level. You might learn a thing or two, and hopefully teach some as well

I understand that controlling a dream is part of Lucid Dreaming, more what I am asking pertains to consciously deciding between the path that my subconscious wishes to take, and making the dream a Lucid Dream.

I have no idea what you mean by that, care to explain it a bit further?

I just don't understand what you mean about how you can consciously decide what your subconscious is doing, it makes no sense. If you can consciously effect it then it is your conscious that is doing it. The subconscious would only be what you cannot control no matter how hard you try. If you effect it it becomes conscious, and part of the control you get because of your lucidity...

Hope that explained something..if not then you might want to rephrase the question...

      I'll try and explain farther.

While dreaming i become conscious of the fact that I am dreaming, obviously. But I have the option to be Lucid or to allow my subconscious to be my guide so to say.

that is the best I can think of off hand... I hope it helps.

      Oh, OK. Control vs. non-control

I will often let my subconsious be my guide and just be an observer or participate in what it has to offer me. This is a great way to learn from yourself and can also result in some great adventures.

Sometimes though, I will conciously alter the fabric of the dream. Things like causing sunrises, or controlling the weather.

Yes, you can chose what you wish. I would recommend letting your subconcious decide for you some and to chose to control your dream some.

Now I understand what you are saying perfectly.

The way I see it everything related to the plot and scenery of the dream is created by the subconscious. Now, when you are lucid think of yourself like if you were in a play. You have lines you can say and a plot you can follow in a scenario that was created for you. But you could always just choose to say something else, do something different, or take of to a different location. You are free to do whatever you want if you don't want to just follow the script and see how that goes...

I hope that metaphor is understandable(and any good )

      WELCOME Gaudior

I think that is great that you can have so many LDs.

I Think that Lucid dreaming is a doorway that is other wise not obtainable to the subconcious. Since the subconcious percieves everything in such a abstarct manner, you can use Lucid dreaming to gain a lot of knowledge about things that you would otherwise not be able to while concious. A whole different picture of any given subject. So even if you chose the path that your LD is going to take you can then let your subconcious show you the rest. Like my signature says. What does your subconcious have to tell you?
Hey! Could you send about five of your Lucid dreams my way each month. I'll Pay!!!!

I would send off a few Lucid Dreams a month if I could... I find it interesting just to let my subconscious be my guide every now and again.
