introducing myself, and a quick question

      alright
just thought id say hello. found out bout this lucid dreaming lark couple of days ago and found this website - tis very helpful
anyways i got a quick question for ya. night before last i began to start my dream journal. went well, i seemed to wake after every rem (i think?) and recorded bout 5 dreams all together.
so anyways last night, i woke up after about 2 hours of sleeping and after recording my dream (was like some low budget minority report) i remember reading about this WILD technique where you induce lucidity by repeating to yourself 'im gonna have a lucid dream' over and over till you fall asleep.
so i tried it. it was weird at first. i was pretty knackered, so my body was half asleep. i started to see these colours and shapes in front of eyes so i concentrated on those and kept repeating said quote. then i began to have these fuzy feelings (since read-up that these are called 'vibrations'). they passed and i carried on, feeling pretty wierd.
then the second vibrations came along, and my god they were strong. cos i hadnt read up on WILD i didnt know they were normal. it were so weird and i felt myself kind of slip into a dream state like. but it was strong a strong sensation that i werent ready for (whole body felt soo fuzzy), i kinda freaked out and snapped myself out of it. wen i did my heart was rapidly beating and i felt well strange.
was this a kind of WILD experience? or is it just something else? just asking cos im new to all this
cheers if anyone could help us out,
      andy

it is a typical begineer WILD

just like you first orgasm (fogive the allusion), it will be strong at your first tries

the images you saw, vibrating sensations, well everything unusual you felt are hypnagogic hallucinations, and you have these every night. you just don't notice them because you're not conscious

WILD consists of tricking your body to think you're sleeping, and make yourself enter the deam while still aware

somewhere in the middle of that process, your body enters a stage called Sleep Paralysis, which prevents unintentional movements, so that you can move your dream body and not risk moving your real body

when you enter Sleep Paralysis, vibrations are felt quite strongly, and suddenly you see everything black, but somehow your vision has "widened"... it's hard to explain in words

anyway, if you did feel that way, you did great for your first try. still it might take practice for you to master this process. practice leads to perfection

just don't let hallucinaitons fool you - don't trust yourself when doing WILD

anyway I guess that is all advice I have to say... best of luck in your WILDs

      stay lucid

Saying quantum physics explains cognitive processes is just like saying geology explains jurisprudence.

Hello Oasis Sorry, I can't give you any useful WILD advice, but I just wanted to say welcome to the forum, and enjoy your stay.
