Was this a LD or not? Help me out

Hi Everyone! Had a dream last night. To make it short...in my dream I did some actions: I saw myself spinning when I wanted to go somewhere else, I told my friend that in a dream we are not limited and I transported us to Hawaii, When in one location which was cold and icy I spun around and took a group of people to the beach. I knew that if I woke up I would loose my lucidity in the dream. I even told some dream characters what to do and they did it! I cannot tell if the dream carried me or if I controlled the dream? Then I woke up. What do you think? Was this a LD? By the way I am also looking to be adopted on this site. PM me.

Hey, did you say you watched yourself do it all? If you did it yourself and thought "Hey I'm dreaming" you were most likely dreaming. But a lucid dream is just simply knowing your dreaming, you don't have to control it to be having one.

In my dream I seem to remember calling the shots and observing me doing things. I remember cognitive thought and telling a few dream characters what to do and acting on that. I seemed to have an awareness. The dream would have continued but then I was woken up by my dog barking.

LucidLearner, based on your replies, I would say that since you were aware.. then you were lucid dreaming. Out of curiousity.. did you ever say (or think) to yourself, "I'm dreaming"?. If so, then you were definately lucid. And like eppy stated, you don't have to control a dream for it to be considered lucid (awareness is all that's required). Oh.. and welcome to Dream Views! .

Yep sounds like you were lucid If you knew that it was a dream, then you were lucid. That's the rule... Congrats and good luck on further LDing

Yes..I was aware therefore this was my second lucid dream..yeah! I want to progress so eventually I can control every aspect of my environment...seems it will take a long time. Thanks everyone.
