Question Are there any kind of Side Effects?

Hey guys, i am new and want to have lucid dreams. I am just curious, are there any kind of side effects (whether mental or physical ) of lucid dreaming?
To explain it further, would lucid dreaming somehow decrease (or increase) my mental abilities or somehow affect me physically (eg. on waking after a lucid dream will I feel tired) ?

And also, would it affect my sleep routine?

If by side effects you mean, a more enjoyable and fulfilling life, than yes. There are plenty of those kinds of side effects. I have never experienced anything bad, from a lucid dream. If anything, I would bet that it enhances your intellegence and mental abilities. I mean, look at our members. Do we seem stupid to you? It also helps to rejuvenate and invigorate me, also. It's as if I get more rest when I'm in an LD.

Nope, you won't feel tired mentally or physically. Even though you're conscious you're still sleeping and getting rest.
It shouldn't affect your sleep routine unless you start polyphasic sleep, most people don't.

I'm a lot more observant in every day life as a result. Plus, every time I have a lucid dream - even a short one - I get a morale boost and I wake up refreshed. Plus, I love the feeling when I'm in a lucid dream, it's indescribable.

Ad I think I spelt that wrong.

Polyphasic sleep is where instead of sleeping in one long 6+ hour block each night, you would instead sleep in several blocks. You might sleep twice for 4 hours each, eight times for one hour - But you get the gist.

That would be me, but it doesn't make me tired: two 4 hours blocks, but it doesn't affect me at all.
