      Unhappy Not much success..getting discouraged

Hey guys....I'm not having much success at this. My first week I had great dream recall, keeping a dream journal, doing all the reality checks and 'state' testing. Im reading Stephen LaBerges book and over the last 2 1/2 weeks Im not having much success. I listen to tapes when I go to bed I tell myself I'll have a lucid dream and excellent dream recall. I'm about to give up but will hang in there....any suggestions? I'm up for adoption on this site but no one has responded. I believe in Lucid Dreaming but it seems it just isn't working.

Everyone loses motivation at some point or other, whether it be during a dry spell or waiting for your first lucid dream. You really do need to just keep at it. Try WBTB and Mild combined. There are several tutorials on it. If you do that frequently you're very likely to have a lucid dream. Also if DILD isn't working for you, maybe you should try Wild. It's advanced but you may be better suited to it. Good luck and don't give up.

Well just look at it this way, why give up? I mean, what else are you going to do while you sleep? There's really no point in giving up. You shouldnt get discouraged, because that's just a step backward, Im sure you have to be in a good state of mind to remember your dreams. Just dont worry about it so much, Im sure it'll come to you.

I agree with spanish here. not experienced with LD at all myself but it does seem like the only thing to do while you sleep
just keep thinking about how much fun it will be to LD
remind yourself of why you wanted to do it in the first place to keep your mind motivated and focused

best of luck to you! =D

Don't give up after only one month ! I see from your other posts that you already had been at least partially lucid; 1 or 2 weeks of dry-spell is not uncommon, especially at the beginning. Lucid dreams can come and go with no particular reason, so keep trying ! And it's not as if "trying" involved lot of time and work during the day...

If you feel discouraged, try some variety: for example do not think about LD at all during the week, and do it again on week-ends. This will re-introduce "novelty and excitement", which are a good for the mysterious ways of the subconscious.
And give a chance to WILD. It's not really an "advanced technique", just a different one. Maybe it will suit you better, or indirectly cause MILDs because you will think about LDs for 1h trying to WILD
      Dec. 2006 - July 2007:
      92 DILDs + 30 WILDs ; 75% too short, 24% decent, ~3 of 2 to 5 minutes
      (I stopped counting after that)

believe me, these things happen, but its really a test and if you stick by it then when this "dry spell" is over then you will see the results and they will be unlike anything that you have ever felt or witnessed before.... so in conclusion, stick with and it will (most probably) be worth it

I agree.. WILD does suit some people better (I'm one of them).

Please take a look at my WILD technique (see the URL in my signature below). It may help you or at least give you some ideas that you hadn't considered before.

But the important thing to remember is VERY few people have lucids whenever and as often as they'd like... the key is not to get discouraged or try so hard that you sabotage yourself!
