      reoccurring waking dreams...any thoughts?

Ive had a few strange reoccuring lucid dreams lately. I wake up in my dream as if I was really waking, weird stuff happens, I realize Im dreaming, tell myself over and over to wake up, and then I wake up again (but im still dreaming) and the cycle continues. The cycle repeats about 5 times before I finally really do wake up. Its weird because I know Im dreaming, but I cant get out of this cycle where my brain is trying to trick me over and over again.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I've never tried to have a lucid dream and came upon this site researching what my dreams meant.

If anyone has an idea, please share, because honestly, they sorta freak me out.
      Thanks

Hey and welcome to the site. Do you need to wake up? Is something bad happening? It seems like by you keep telling yourself to wake up you therefore do continuously wake up but in your dream. If I was you I would just go with your dream and not tell yourself to wake up unless you are having a nightmare or something.

Well, once my head was about to be hacked off with an ax, but other than that I think just realizing Im dreaming is scary enough for me. Its just my instictual reaction, since Im not trying.
In one dream Im half awake, slide off my bed, and I think, 'am I dreaming? well, if i wake up and im on the floor like I am now, its real', and I wake up and Im on the floor- but im still in the dream. The dreams start with me waking up. Its like its a game my mind plays with itself.
So next time it happens, I wont tell myself to wake up, instead, Ill tell myself to go the beach. Thank you!

Thats probly the best advice you can follow i had the same problem with but with the chucky doll out of the Chucky movies.
I awoke in my bed thinking i was out of a normal night of sleep and there was a doll sitting on the edge of my bed
thinking this was reality i when to look at him, and he turned around.
Thats when I thought i woke up this time he was there again
      he threw himself at me.
This is the time i actully did wake up being so scared i just lay there in my bed, dont even think did i look at the end of the bed, because i was to scared to lol.

From what it sounds like you could possibly be making it worse on your self. What kind of mindset do you have when you are going to bed? People have dreams every night whether they remember them or not. And the phrases which you continually repeat to yourself are what your subconcious feeds you.

If you say well if I wake up on the floor, your subconcious then puts that into action and you wake up on the floor, this just leads to a series of other problems.

You need to start doing some reality checks it would seem, if you don't know what they are, they are little "Checks" that you do to determine whether or not you are dreaming. Some examples are clocks which never read the correct time for instance it may say 1:50 PM and you look back at it and it says 3:98 AM. Certain things that could just not be possible in real life but appear in your dream are what you need to be checking for.

Start doing this more often as well as getting some better Dream Control should help you tremendously also if you play some peaceful music (peaceful to you that is) it could also assist making your dreams better as it would give a better mindset before you fall asleep.
