Technically, in my opinion you only realise its a FA if a) you become lucid, in which case just wake yourself up or b) you actually do wake up. |

Ok so I have had FA's before and I would just get freaked out and wake up hyperventilating not knowing what was going on. After some research online I came upon Lucid Dreaming and FINALLY everything made sense. I had never been Lucid but I had recognized FA's because they had happened to me a couple of times. Anyways..I tried all the Lucid dremaing techniques and I had my first one the second time I tried. I started dreaming that I was in a circus when all of a sudden I remembered to do a reality check. I looked down at my hands and just as I expected they were disfigured. My fingers were sort of melted together like claws and thats when I knew I was dreaming. So I kinda of smiled and began directing the circus just to see if I could. and sure enough I could! I was having a blast until I woke up! OR SO I THOUGHT! There I was laying in bed staring at my closet and I thought I was awake but i couldn't move. Yet everything seemed so real. So I looked down at my hands and they were gone. So then again I became Lucid again I guess and I knew I was dreaming but I couldn't wake up and I started freaking out~! I have a mirror in my room so I decided to do another RC and I kinda floated to the mirror and looked in and I had red flaming hair so I freaked again and began yelling wake up wake up Full force But I couldn't. I was completely awar that I was dreaming yet there was nothing I could do about it! I felt trapped and helpless. I did not like this feeling at all. It wasn't until my brother came in the room that I woke up stunned and I automatically checked my hands to see if it was another FA or not. |

first of all, theres no reason to freak out. |

Lucid goals:
- Web slinging in Manhattan Spider-Man style [ ]
When I was younger, I had lucid dreams a lot. Not to the point where I could control them, but almost once every night I would suddenly realize I was dreaming. Usually when this happened I immediately tried to wake up. And what I found out worked for me was to concentrate really hard on opening my "dream eyes" as wide as I possibly could. That'd always wake me up. So next time you freak out because you're unable to wake up, then maybe you could try that? |

Hey thanks! I guess since it was my first time being Lucid I freaked out and lost control. |

I tent to find closing your eyes has more success to waking yourself up. Give both a try |

Glad to be of help. n_n Hope it works for you. |
