Can you get hurt in a LD?

Ive had a lot of dreams ( no LDs ) and i feel things like touches, things thrown at me...ive never had a dream when anything big happened...except when i fell off a mountain road...but all i remember after i fell was just waking up from laying down...do u ever experience real pain?

The pain is real, because pain is created by your mind to warn you about an injury, but there is actually no injury. So you can't physicaly get harmed, but you can feel pain.

Does this mean you are actually still limited in what you can do? Like if somebody shoots you, it'll hurt like they shot you? What if you told your brain that getting shot doesn't hurt. Would it still hurt?

If you make your self believe it wont hurt, then it wont. When you wake up, usually when you notice you are not injured it will stop hurting. Also, sometimes you don't get hurt.

Completely safe. The worst that could happen is wetting your bed (It unfortunately happened to me once when I pissed in a dream toilet).

When I get shot in dreams, I usually tingle a bit as well.

Pain is a very interesting concept. We used to talk about in my psychology class how people who had amputations could still feel pain in a part of their body that wasn't there.

What they said before, pain is all in the mind. I can verify this becuase I hate shots...and the one time that I took a shot without knowing it, I didn't feel a thing. But the 20+ other times, when I did notice, you better belive I felt it.

But back to dreams...I have never been physically harmed per se, but I have def. felt "pressure" before in certain areas of the body. Nothing to bad though, as pain in a dream can quite easily be the least of your worries with a LD or two.

this is an urban legend i was just about to comment about.
people probably got the idea from the matrix...
'if you die in a dream the brain thinks you are dead so it stops working' stuff like that. nonsense.

Quick question thats slightly related. If you feel "pain" in lds does that make RCs like pinching yourself or biting your lip pointless?
