Heya, I'm new here, at least new to posting, I've read a few of the intros and topics and such already and thought it was time to say hi. ^_^
I'm not exactly new to lucid dreaming, I've been trying to do it on and off (usually a month or so at a time) for a year or two, and given it some renewed effort lately, but I haven't had too much success so far. The one thing that has worked for me though (thus far infallibly) is the pinching-your-nose-and-breathing reality check. Although it doesn't help any if you let the rest of the dream convince you that it's real. I've tried dream journaling, had very little patience with it at first because my dreams are almost always completely nonsensical and entirely not worth writing. (think ice-skating pineapples.) It helped with dream recall while I was journalling, but after I stopped for a little while it was like I hadn't done it at all.
Over time I've have had quite a few lucid dreams, but none of them were exactly on purpose and all were fairly brief, and if I tried to do it again the same way it never quite worked. I did accidentally have a shared dream with one of my friends once, who seems to be extremely talented at this kind of thing. It was nifty, but we haven't been able to coordinate it again since. Does anyone else have any information or experience with this kind of thing, or tried to do it while in a lucid dream? And one more question... if, in your opinion, there's a single thing that would help the most with learning lucid dreaming, what would it be?
