      bad time to start?

I am used to taking up freelance jobs and often end up messing my sleep schedule.

I often have a hard time getting to sleep...and whenever I try some lucid dreaming technique I end up too worried to actually sleep :p do you guys think there are any techniques I should be trying?

Sure, keep trying. All the techniques can be useful for you. Even with bad sleep schedule and worries, if you practice enough there's a good chance you will succeed.
But if LD can be a motivator to set a good sleep schedule, and to work on being less worried ( by techniques such as meditation ), well then you kill 3 birds with one stroke.

You know, maybe it would be a good idea for you to try techniques that don't require waking before hand. Keep on with the reality checks and things.

Hey ConceitArturo, welcome to the forums, i think that with all the pressure you are under with sleeping hours that it will effect your chances of having lucid dreams so i suggest you just leave it until you got a completely free night, best of luck!

      to Dream Views, ConceitArturo!

Hopefully sleep deprivation will lead to REM rebound and those nights when you can get a good night's sleep you will have a good chance at getting lucid. This works for me sometimes.
