      LD as therapy?

Hey...I read something about someone who wanted to see their "dream guardian" (what is that BTW?)...got me thinking

can you summon stuff you dont know what it looks like? like...could you just go and say "I am going to turn around and I will see a dreamsign"! (:p....) and suddenly it's there?

because, I would like to use LD to face my fears, for example I am a shy person and I would like to try my hand at leading groups, so I would like to summon....say, the person that I fear the most and confront them.

I guess my REAL question is, can you use LD to ask questions to your subconscious?

Okay, a 'dream guardian' or 'dream guide' is something those who believe in the supernatural aspect of dreams believe watches over us at night and can give us help and advice, check the beyond dreaming forum for people who believe in such things.

You can summon stuff you don't know what looks like, yes, but I'm not sure about using it to find a dreamsign, dreams are very random in nature so it could throw you something that has nothing to do with any of your dreamsigns!

It's a good idea to summon things your fear in dreams and face them, quite a lot of people do so and it helps them.

As for the REAL question, I don't see why not really. Quite a few people believe that you can, though it must again be remembered hat due to the random nature of dreams, the answers you get might not really make sense or be entirely truthful, though obviously, this only may happen, you may also get the answers you seek.

When you're dreaming you can interact with your subconscious more as well (since you're in a world made of it) and I've heard some people regard and make dream guardians to represent their subconscious as opposed to something more supernatural. Therefore if you ask them to summon your greatest fear you might get some weird and surprising (or even shocking) results - and accurate too if it does come from your subconscious. I suppose by making a physical manifestation of your subconscious it's easier to ask it questions. Regardless of whether or not you choose to do that I think you can summon all sorts of nasty things and situations with your conscious, never mind your subconscious, so I'm sure you could do a bit of self therapy if you use your imagination. I haven't tried it myself I have to say.

I'd say yes. You can use lucid dreams to question your subconcious and to start working toward overcoming fears.
If you have some serious issues, you should seek professional help to deal with those before trying to tackle them through lucid dreams.
Welcome to Dream Views and hope to see more of you.
