My dad thinks that its a waste of time. Though he doesn't have (read: remember) dreams. Do any of you know of an article on lucid dreaming published in a major scientific journal?

My mom knew what it was...she started talking about REM and stuff like that, she didn't say "I'm crazy". My friends are interested, I bought them both copies of EWLD as well..

Almost all of my friends think it's kinda cool, and a couple of them are even naturals.

Here's all I found in a quick search but I know it's been discussed in several major scientific mags.

      How Stuff Works

      Wikihow

Video on Youtube from a Fox27 TV news broadcast (good video)

      It's mentioned here too. Sciencenews.org

Lol, my parents think its "interesting" and clump it together with horoscopes and astrology I think (not their cup of tea). I think my boyfriend just regards it an awful lot of effort spent on sleeping. He's very much grounded in the practical and reality
Such is the reason for forums and the internet I say!

Your so lucky, my parents were open to it at first but now whenever i talk about it and try to make a conversation out of it they seem to shift the conversation, i've given up trying with them. Lucid dreaming is an awesome thing, its not my fault if they are not interested.

dont worry about other people. lucid dreaming is all about advancing the individual; improving yourself. if people aren't open about it then dont waste your time trying to preach.
