Hi all, it's currently 5:40am here in Glasgow, and I am awake.
A few hours ago (about 2:30) I went to bed, and decided to try a WILD. I went to bed, turned my lights off, and shut my eyes. I started doing some simple activities, counting from 1 to 10 repeatedly, looping through the alphabet and thinking of things that begin with that letter, etc. Most of this time I was just holding my eyes shut, but eventually, I slipped into a different stage, where I think I was just getting more sleepy. My fingers and toes started to tighten up a little, and that was weird. Later on, after a short while, my eyes started moving extremelly fast, it was really weird, and my heart rate shot up. At first I was just thinking "Ok, this must be the REM period or something... Gee, 'Rapid' doesn't quite describe it", but what really scared me was my heart beat. It was insane. I was considering opening my eyes incase my head exploded or something, but I figured since I got this far it wasn't worth it. After that, my whole body started to tighten up - I guess this was SP.
So I lay there, probably asleep, but still concious, and I could still hear things, like my brother going to bed. I think he also turned on the light for a second, but I couldn't see it at all. So I waited, and waited, tryed some more activities, waited, waited, then I started to really get bored. I wanted to start dreaming, but they still didn't come. My arm was in a funny position and it hurt, my ear was slightly folded over and it hurt. I have a boil under my arm and it hurt. And, quite apart from that, I was expremelly bored, waiting to dream. After a while when all the pain started to get really annoying and I wasn't able to ignore it I decided to open my eyes. I had a really "woken up" feeling, and I could feel my muscles untensing, so I guess I was sleeping. I did a quick RC to make sure it wasnt an FA, but it passed. I looked at my watch, and it was 4:30 am. 2 hours of boredom and annoying pains.
Screw WILD, I'm sticking to good ol' RCs and good luck.
