I THINK I just got way close...someone confirm? PLEASE

So I decided that I would attempt to bring my self to SP right now even though it's not night (just couldn't wait..). I think that I got really really close and I wanted someone to confirm it. This is what happened..

I started out a little drowsy and layed on my couch. I started to "reverse blink" for a while and rapidly got even more tired. I got to the point where I didn't want to open my eyes anymore so I just kept them shut.

Then I started counting to my self very slowly.."1, I'm dreaming..2, I'm dreaming.."etc. I got to 100 slowy with no problems and restarted back at one. Once I was in the 50-70s again I realized that I was getting messed up a lot. I stopped shortly after that I started to "see" some imagery.

I watched this imagery for a while. All of sudden I felt myself "slip". Things were totally different but all I could see was black. I couldn't feel my body and I felt like I was spinning/falling into a world. I felt my heart start to race and I tried to calm myself down but just couldn't. I woke up fast and grabbed my chest to feel my racing heart and I tried to slow my breathing down.

Is that what SP is like???

When you say SP I believe your talking about sleep paralysis if im not mistaken. Sleep paralysis is something that happens every time you sleep. It's basically your body becoming paralyzed so you don't act out your dream. I think that you're trying to wake while still in the state of SP which I know is probably not what you experienced. Ask around and maybe you can find out a bit more about it and if you came close.

It sounds like you were close to conciously experiencing SP.

It is a state of not being able to move. You either hit it on the verge of falling asleep or wake up from a dream into it. I think it's more common to wake into SP though. I think you might have skimmed right past experiencing the paralysis and fell right into a dream. Which is what happens to me. The slipping and falling sensations happen just before you start really dreaming and if you can ride those out and stay aware you should find yourself lucid in a dream. Just think of it as a little roller coaster ride into lucidity and let it happen.
