      I Can't Wait. Here's my experience.

Recently I experienced a dream unlike any other. I've heard it said that you can not die in your dreams because the shock of it would wake you.

However, I was riding a bus with a friend coming back home from some church event. We were traveling curvy roads high in the mountains. A car pulled out in front of the bus at a turn and the bus avoiding the car steered left and went over the edge of the mountain and plummeted. I look at my friend and we both acknowledge very calmly that our time was up and we were going to die. Upon being consumed by an explosion as the bus smashed into the rocky bottom below, My friend and I became spirits and teleported back to our home cities. It became our sense of duty to inform our loved ones of our spiritual safety and assure them that we were going to a better place. We went together to his house first. Instead of conventionally using the door, it was my logic that decided since we were dead that we should be able to walk through the wall, so we did. Amazed by this I asked in my head, "Can we walk on water?" and heard and audible voice (from God supposedly) saying "DO NOT TRY TO WALK ON WATER!!!". it was an understood warning. And I could no longer walk through walls. After we whispered our safety to his mother's sleeping ear we went to my house, which proved to be more difficult since so many obstacles in the way. After I told my family of my safety, we left the house. Having sensed that we completed our necessary duty a feeling that we were intended to be picked up at a certain place and time came over us. (sorta like a plane departure. Even though I've never been on a plane)

We never made it to that "plane" because I woke, but It was the most exciting and realistic dream I've ever had. I'm excited to start the practice of Lucid dreaming so I have more control over my dreams. Instead of letting my unconscious drive the dream my limited imagine could take over and take me to new places.

Oh man, what a very deep and moving dream that sounds like!
I have a couple of questions which I'll get to in a bit.
First I must say that I love the terrific portrayal of how much power one's mind has over the dream. You used your common sense and realized that the two of you were spirits and thus should be able to travel through walls - and at that moment, that's exactly what you could accomplish.

Then you asked about walking on water and was told not to (very firmly so I take it). Being told off by the man himself probably made such an impact on your mind, that you should just forget about everything that the existance as a spirit would allow you to do, that you even lost your own given ability to pass through solid objects.

Imagine when, with enough experience and training, you get to become "the man himself" yourself. When YOU get to decide completely on your own what you and your DC buddies can do. I believe it is much like the Matrix movies - step one is to KNOW you can do it.

As for my two questions - I know that these are VERY personal questions and you should not answer them unless you are 100% comfortable with doing so!

Firstly; As I read about your dream - to ME, it would surely be a VERY emotional thing to go and say goodbye to your loved ones (on the other hand, that's in RL since I have no clue at all what it would feel like nor what would happen after death) - how did it feel to you? Were you just happy with the new experience to exist as a spirit - did having your friend with you easen things up maybe?

Secondly; Is this an event that you could imagine would really occur once the time comes - i.e. have you "primed" your subconscious to portray the afterlife as you experienced it in your dream or did your subc. make that up on its own?

(On a personal note, your experience sounds like a very mild and acceptable way to go.)

And remember, don't answer these questions if you're the least bit uncomfortable with them!

Thanks for sharing that amazing dream and welcome to the community!

      Very moving dream.

If you have not already, you should start a dream journal. It will help you remember your dreams and its a good way to look back on great ones such as this. I'm sure many of the DV community would be interested in reading as well should you let them.
