Thumbs up New here: Going to Try This

      Hello,

My name is Lou. This whole subject seems pretty interested.

I am new here and I used to meditate along with other activities with the goal of relieving stress. I have the stressful life of running my own business and I always seem to be very stressed out if I don't find ways to cope and things to take my mind of the everyday grind of life. A few years ago, if someone had mentioned or talked to be about "LucidDreaming" or even meditating for that matter, I would laugh in their face while thinkingm "me? yea right".

But, as my life has gotten very stressful, I am always looking for new methods & activities for stress relief.

I just looked and read over the basic tutorial of "Lucid Dreaming" and it seems like a great way to lower stress. Stuff like focusing on remembering your dreams, jotting dream down details of your dreams, remembering triggers, etc... all with the basic goal of achieving control and command of a lucid dream...

This seems like a great, stress relieving, mental activity. Do you guys find that it reduces stress overall? Do you find that you level of stress has been lowered since you began on your journey of lucid dreaming.

I am going to start giving these lucid dreaming activities and techniques a try to see if after a while I can achieve this overall goal of controlling and remembering my lucid dreams.

I just thought I'd make a post to thank the person in charge of this site for tutorial. This seems interesting. I will get into reading some other posts & other tutorials on here later.

      Very Cool

      Welcome aboard, Lou.

Lucid dreaming can definitely relieve stress, especially if you are otherwise prone to nightmares. It also just happens to be the coolest form of entertainment ever discovered.

Good luck in your dreams to come. And feel free to ask any specific questions you have here... the community is very helpful.

Lucid dreaming can be very stress relieving.. when you're successful. But I find that if you determine that you aren't progressing (i.e., becoming lucid) as quickly (or as often) as you want to.. it can actually increase your stress level.. if you let it.

Lucid dreaming is a magnificent obsession.. it can be wondrous and addictive.. and it can be frustrating as hell!

The key is not to push yourself.. not to put a timetable on getting your first, second, third, etc. lucid dream.

Don't get me wrong.. I encourage everyone to learn to lucid dream. It's like taking a trip where you can become anyone and do anything.. all without having to leave your house, take time off from work or spend huge amounts of money!

I just want you to enjoy the "journey" to lucidity as well as the final destination (your lucid dreams)!
