      Commencing Introduction

Hello. I've been interested in lucid dreaming for a while now. It's just that I wasn't ever able to stick to training (I'm now on my second or third attempt to keep a steady dream journal). So . . . yeah. I'm not usually too good with introductions.

Let's just see how many questions I can get out of the way while I'm introducing myself here:

*How 'real' does an LD feel/seem?

*Is there anything else I could do (during the day) besides getting into the habit of doing reality checks, that would help with my lucid dreaming training?

That's probably about it for now. Hopefully you'll be seeing me around the forum.

Hey there, welcome to Dream Views!

Let's see, an LD can varry in vividness. My first was very hazy and only lasted a minute, if that. My second and third lucids were incredibly vivid, my second in particular. The dream felt very real. Pretty much just like real life.

Let's see. Things that would help during the day. Getting good exercise and eating healthy allow for better sleep. Also, having a consistent sleep cycle is supposed to be good for lucids.

      Good luck man!

      Hey, welcome to Dreamviews!

      1. I've had 2 LD's and both seemed very real. Except for the fact that my DCs are retarded. But the surroundings are very realistic.
      2. Besides RCs, there isn't much, that I know of. But keeping LDing on your mind will be helpful. Ask yourself during the day if you're dreaming, how you would know, and what you would do.

      Good luck!

EDIT: I wanted to reply first . You beat me to it...

Regarding your question about how real LD's feel, I can assure you they can be so vivid you can mistake them for real life and slip out of lucidity easily. On the other hand, I've had times where they were a bit blurry. I hate it when they are blurry, because it's really hard for me to change it into a vivid LD when they start out like that.
"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible."

I had a dream last night that felt pretty real but it wasn't an LD. I was running and when I would get to a hill I would use my hands and feet to go up it faster, like a dog. I could feel the texture of the street and it felt real.

Then imagine how cool it would be to control something that realistic
