      Arrow Questions

      uh, sorry new intro.
      Mrs. Jones, age 15

      I'm sure that:
-I've experienced more than one lucid dream before.
-almost all these occurred before the age of 12.
      -almost all these were nightmares.
-I had conceived a way to consciously, while dreaming, rid myself of the nightmares.
-I've learned of lucid dreaming 3 years ago and (half-heartedly) tried to intentionally induce them.
      -I haven't had any since.
-Even so, I've come pretty close. Once I was able to consciously think, "I'm dreaming" while dreaming, but wasn't able to convince my dream self. I didn't have that lucid feeling.
      -something like that.

      Questions:
-Is it because I stopped having nightmares that I have no more lucid dreams, or
-is it because I've deliberatly tried to induce them that I have no more lucid dreams?
-Are there different levels of lucidity? Does semi-lucidity count?
-In that near-lucid dream, was I semi-lucid, or was I fully lucid for only a moment? Or were my conscious and my dream self unable to merge?

      Also:
-I'm pretty sure I have above average dream-recall skills.
      -I think I seem confused.
-Sometimes while I'm laying in bed to sleep, I think I'm awake, but at the same time, I start walking in my mind, like a half-dream, then after that first or second step*, I jerk awake, feeling nothing beneath my feet ('cos I'm laying down, horizontal), even though I was only thinking of walking, not actually doing it. I thought I was awake, then I woke up! I think some might see this as my astral projection leaving my body while I sleep or something, but I don't know. Because sometimes I see a sidewalk.

*I feel as though I've been walking a little longer though.

      Welcome to DreamViews Mrs. Jones!
Yes there are different levels of lucidity, ranging from semi-lucid to a very vivid dream with full control. Check out these tutorials about levels of lucidity:

that explains a lot. thanks. I can't remember if I actually had a 100% lucid dream before, (prob. no) but I feel as though I know exactly what it is like. After seeing the tutorials, most issues are cleared up, and I'm trying to classify every dream I can recall.

this is becoming a bit of a diary.

why does DV log me out every 5 minutes?

It shouldn't. There is a sub-forum called Meta Forum where you can ask help with technical problems, or you can send a private message to one of the moderators or admins and they'll help you. This is a list of them: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=37842

      Smile

I clicked 'Remember Me' box next to my username and password boxes when I logged in and after I did that then I stopped getting logged off - now I am on until I log off manually.

Although that might change if you delete your cookies or something as then it might not remember that you chose that setting if you did that, but if you did delete them in the future you could always click remember me again and you would be fine

Hope that works for you too!

      Namaste.

Hi there Mrs. Jones and welcome.

I like the way you layed out your post, seemed pretty neat and tidy, also more easier to read.

Nightmares help you become lucid, but it doesn't mean you won't ever have a lucid again because you haven't had them in ages.

Again trying to induce them will enhance the chance of having them and not lower it.

It's quite good to see that you have some good experience

If you need anything else please feel free to ask.
