Sometimes it takes time to build back dream recall. Try some memory exercises or even MILD. Can you remember small bits of dreams during the night? Keep your dream journal or some sticky notes next to you and jot down a trigger word regarding the dream you're having. The next morning you just have to read the word/s and the dream will come back to you. The important thing is to write something down when you remember it, even if it's in the middle of the night.

Hey there ks62094! Welcome to the forums

Ok, well since you may have found that remembeing things is hard. i suggest you just start a fresh, tell yourself that your starting again and this time its going to work, go in with a good focused and positive attitude. That will help you at all times.

Another is to remind yourself before you go to sleep that you want to remember your dreams, this helps alot in some cases.

Another suggestion is to tell yourself before you go to sleep that the first thing you will think of when you awake in the morning is "do i remember any dreams" and when you awake try and make this the first thing on your mind, don't let your mind wander, just concentrate on remembering what happened between falling asleep and waking up, if you do that you can pick out small details and work backwords with them.

I hope you manage to remember some dreams tonight, any details are considered a dream, write it down, even if you remember a random pen, just write it down, it all helps at the end of the day!

Squall is right, but I have a couple things also to suggest.

Do a Dream Diary, but also before you go to bed at night, say to yourself,"I will have a dream, and I will remember it". Really mean it and maby repeat it.

Also, eating bannanas before you go to bed might help out(So I heard). One last thing, waking up 6 hours after you sleep(Like Wilding) will help you remember them too. I heard this from someone.

I find that when you practice your recall a bit and start remembering more and more, which is what will happen, you tend to remember yourself waking at random hours in the morning and thats how you remember more, you may not realise it but sometiems you will wake in the morning but just forget when you wake up properly. You will remember more, just keep at it and don't give up!

That's about the level I was on when I first started lucid dreaming. Rally you'll find that increased determination to remember and writing down the dreams you do remember will helmp a lot. In no time you'll be remembering a few a night, just remember to keep a journal for those you remember!

Your subconscious just needs to get the message that you're serious about this. You'd be suprised at how obedient it can be. On my first two nights I didn't recall ANYTHING. But the next night I recalled 3 dreams and 2 1/2 the next night! And don't get discouraged if you have some nights where you have recall and then one with nothing. I didn't get anything last night, but it was just not a good night and I'm gonna move on and hope for better tonight. Good luck and welcome!

      Hey,

Yes dream recall can take some time to build up. If you get even just one word write it down, or even something so much as a feeling. You will train yourself up into better recall eventually. My recall used to be the same as you and then I got some little recalls and now I can write tons. I do have a good short term memory which helps so you might want to learn some memory improving skills. You should not move when you wake and think about what you have been dreaming about, give it a little while and don't say in the first few seconds you got nothing, be patient it will come. Best to write down anything you get straight away as soon as you wake up don't go back to sleep immediately or it will most likely go, unless it was intensely vivid.

Make a electronic journal on DV to transfer your writings into and write something in it daily even it is just one word, an emotion or say I got nothing, that dedication to put something in it daily and to do it daily will help you. Don't get down if you dont recall something one day, just be more positive and determined the next day - you got plenty of time to develop the skill over.

      Good Luck,

      Namaste.

      Heya,

I'd just like to add. For me personally, there's such a thing as trying too hard too. If I push myself to the point where it stops being fun or relaxing, it has a negative effect. Sometimes, it can help to just let go for a while, take a day or two off, take a deep breath, and then start anew. Usually, in those two days off, it happens spontaniously anyways. At least it does for me
