      Lightbulb Site Reading

Hey im just kind of curious, from what i know dreams can be made of stuff that happens in reality and what is constantly on your mind. So if lets say im browsing around this site finding some interesting things would it raise my chances of becoming lucid?
example: a DC mentions something that reminds me of this site, and since it will be based on lucidity (if thats even a word) my instinct should remind me oh yea! im trying to become LD! sooo this is all dream!

      catch my drift?

Yup, thinking about dreaming or incorporating dream-related things into your daily life increase the chances that they'll translate into the dream state and help you induce lucidity.

Though I have had a non-lucid dream where I've posted things on this forum.

Yes, having LDing on your mind should help. Obviously not as a stand-alone method, but it definitely would aid anything else you try to do to get lucid.
And lucidity is a word, we use it a lot around here

I could be a smartass and correct you, but that wouldn't be very nice
OK I'll do it, it's attaining lucidity

hahah sweet, good to know guys thanks. Its pretty cool how reading all the interesting ideas here is knowledge to the mind as well as somewhat helping become lucid (without realizing or putting any effort into it). And i just noticed the dream journal forum, thats awesome. Im gonna transfer my dreams to that asap.

Ha, thanks actually. I appreciate corrections seeing as you're not being a jerk about it.

It will increase your chances, just as long as you don't over do it, else you'll have DV running through your mind and you'll just dream of browzing the forum like I used to

I had a problem when trying this, i am on the forum everyday and even with lucid dreaming on the mind everyday i find that it does not bring sucess, i suppose it mostly depends on whether you on the site will manifest in your subconscious mind, if it does you will dream about being on the forum, however i recommend incorporating an RC whenever you are on DV just so that you don't think your actually on DV when really its a dream.

I don't want to discourage you, but I agree with Lucid Seeker only in that having the site itself in your mind will not always work. The reason is that all rationality is lost during non-lucids. So, if seeing a pink elephant fly through your window in a dream does not make you question 'reality', why should the precense of a website which actually DOES exist make you think "oh, could this be a dream?".

There is a thread on here in which members post dreams in which they've had a dream that involved another DV member in them. Most of them are non-lucid. You'd think that if you met a DV member in a dream you'd instantly think about a reality check. But, the mind really messes you up.

The good news, is that many have reported that merely browsing the site before bed has helped them become lucid. This, I believe, is what think of as a "post-impression" - it's like watching a movie close to bed-time, then dreaming about the movie in your sleep. The characters, story, and visuals influence your dream. Browsing the site can do two things, however. It can either give you an impression of the members on the site (resulting in a dream in which you meet a member)- or, re-inforce the intention of becoming lucid that you have. By going to bed with this re-inforced intention (also known as the MILD technique) your chances increase of becoming lucid.
