Hello all!
I'm another new person to the forum (I actually found it a while ago, but due to circumstances didn't have time to devote to it until now). Quite daunting, all the information here, so I figured I'd better begin by introducing myself first
I'm thirty years old, and first found out about Lucid dreaming some 14 years ago (give or take). I've been interested and experimenting with it ever since, on and off, with periods of lots of activity and periods where I just didn't pay much attention to it.
Like many, my first actual lucid dream was during my childhood, where I'd often become more or less 'aware' that I was dreaming during my dreams. During one particular frightening dream where I was being chased by a very scary owl (don't ask ), I finally realised 'hey, I'm dreaming and this is not a fun dream, so i'll wake myself up', and did so. I consider this to be my first true lucid dream that I remember.
Even to this day, nightmares and anxiety dreams are often the best lucid dream triggers for me. Although in truth I very seldomly become lucid due to dreamcues. Usually my lucid dreams have no real obvious cause as to why I became aware of dreaming.
Later on in my life I happened upon the concept of lucid dreaming, more or less by chance, and instantly recognizing it from my own experiences, I got hooked right from the start. I started keeping a daily dreamjournal which I've done ever since, and soon had my first new lucid dream.
Anyways, since I'm currently trying to start more actively experimenting with my dreams again and becoming lucid more, I figured joining this forum was probably a very good idea. I look forward to reading about the experiences of others and maybe sharing some of mine. And ofcourse I look forward to getting to know you all
Better stop rambling now though, or this small introduction is going to get rather big
Oh yeah, and I use a lot of smilies, if you hadn't noticed yet!
