      hi-

whats up, came across this site, a few days ago, read EVERYTHING, tutorials and all, and it took me about two days to actually have a LD.

To pose an interesting question, atleast i think.. Isnt it possible that I was just dreaming that i had control of a dream, where as i really didnt?

Briefly explaining what happened and not to get into too much detail, i realized i was dreaming in my own home, didnt look at any clocks or text, or play with any switch's. I knew i was asleep. So then what i wanted to happen, immediately happened.
But then i got distracted by something, and i tried the spinning and saying i am dreaming. it worked to keep the dream going, but i lost control.. and i was in for the ride. I know that i just need practice, and i was probably too excited.

The question im posing i guess is am i on the right track?
      Sincerely,
      Plan B

      Welcome!!! and Congrats!

Yep, you've got it! Being lucid does not mean being in control. If you know you are dreaming, then it was an LD!

I often just go along for the ride, interesting things can happen to you when you don't try to exert control!

Its something that most people thing, that they where just dreaming about beeing lucid... But it is not like that, you really are lucid. No telling what tipped you off, perhaps you forgot. Possibly the whole dream seems pretty fuzzy and faded but thats normal.

hey again, yes, i did read all of the tutorials and what not.. im very interested in the subject. Thats why i was pretty sure it was a ld, wanted a second opinion on the dreaming of ld though.

i feel welcome here, thank you. sorry if what i had mentioned previously before is a copy paste of other newbs, all i can say is, remember the day you were so excited about something you discovered for yourself. sometimes you like to share.

hopefully, with some advice of the people here and through my own research i can gain control, i have a recurring nightmare, that i feel this will help me defeat.

happy dreaming, and till i wake again --
      Sincerely,
      Plan B

      Welcome, Plan B!

These are coined 'low level lucid dreams'...many people have them, and some people prefer not to have absolute control, as they think the dream shall communicate to them in other ways than them being in absolute control...

I lost control in my last LD too...oh well, that's why they call us n00b's.

Anyway, just wanted to welcome you to the forum, Plan B.

I present you with the outstanding newb award!!!(not DV's outstanding newb award, but mine at least ). You are the model perfect newb. You don't post whore, you read the site and tutorials, and by doing so you got a LD a couple days later.

Anyway, it sounds like it really was low level LD. My first LD I also got that feeling you are describing, but with more experience you will understand that it was in fact an LD. You will also hopefully have a bit more control and sense of awareness, but that is something one has to work on in order to develop...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
