      Need some advice

First of all I am new here and I have just started trying for lucid dreams.
      and now for my question:

last night i spent about 2 hours reading up LD's and methods for inducing them. I had read a lot about the "spinning technique" for prolonging dreams, I also read that this method has also transitioned people into a second LD, so I had the thought that maybe it could be a good WILD technique.

So I went to bed completely focused and relaxed, I pictured myself spinning as recommended and something kind of scary started to happen. All of a sudden I felt as though my whole bed was tilting upward, at first this scared me so I pulled out of my spin. I collected myself and was able to do it again, I felt my body tilt, and this time I held it for just a second longer and I received an even bigger shock. On top of the tilting feeling my whole body became tingly(like when your muscles go to sleep), I almost felt like I was falling. I became to frightened to continue so I pulled out again, but this time I wasn't able to go back into it so I had to stop for the night.

Looking back on it I have this strong feeling that if I had held it for just a second long I would have been in a dream, I imagine it would have been like emerging from being totally under water.

Can anyone tell me, was I close to a WILD, if I had just held onto that spin for a little longer do you think I would have been in a dream?

      thx

You were on the right track. But, you seem to be confused about what the spinning technique is. Spinning is what you do in a dream to maintain lucidity or change the scene. The best purpose for it is to keep lucidity from fading. The scenery change that sometimes happens is more of a side effect and usually not the intended outcome.

But hey, if it's helping you approach a WILD then, by all means, use it in that way.

Good luck and welcome to Dreamviews.

Interesting I might try this. Extreme tilting and rocking has happened to me but I never tried intentionally doing it. At this point I am trying to enhance anything I have tried.

I'm pretty sure that was close you should have tried a bit longer, Maybe I will try that tonight, I can get a spin but not intentional.

Thats a good idea to try somthing normally used in dreams in a wild.

      ^Probably

Hi there and welcome to the forum

Well as said, the spinning technique is used in the lucid dreams to help the dream become more clear and stable, also for teleporting.

That seems close to a WILD though, because vibations (which was most likely caused by your imagining spinning) are a sign of the early stages of a WILD.

      to the Forums!
If I focus on relaxing for a few minutes after going to bed, I can have total mental control of my sense of positioning (I've intentionally tried to "flip" upside down, it was pretty cool). The tingling was probably SP, so you were probably pretty close to a WILD.
