      Give up WILD?

I have WILDed now 25 times in two peroids and I have never got any result directly from the method. I've got three dreams where I have been fully lucid, but they were mostly luck, and last one only lasted for a couple of seconds so that one maybe doesn't count. I think I had them because my mind has been so focused on dreams lately, not from the WILDs.

I'm starting to realise that WILD is maybe not a method that suits me, maybe because I'm a newbie, I don't know, but what method should I try instead? I don't want random results :/

And what am I doing wrong with the WILD method? I sleep for 4-6 hours, get up for 30-60 minuter, sit here reading and then go to bed. I'm lying still, most of the times on my back, and waits for the body to get sleepy. Then I mostly start counting, but the result is either that I don't fall asleep within an hour so I give up, or I fall asleep unconscious. I have also tried the "aphabetic metod", but same thing there. I rarely get vibrations, but last night that happened, first I had a falling sensation and thought "yes, this is it!" and then really strong vibrations and a sound too, I never heard sounds before, it was like the vibrations made the sound because they were so strong, a high pitched, sort of whining sound. First I got a little bit frightened, natural reaction, but I calmed myself down. When it stopped I thought that maybe I'm dreaming but no, I was more very much awake instead.

So that contributes to why I don't have the energy and motivation to continue with WILD. But am I doing som cruicial mistake here? And if not, what method should I try instead that is good for newbies and not very random?

Hey, if you have shown even the tinies of sucess with WILD it just shoes that its possible, but if you haven't shown any progression i would think you are making the right choice, you should maybe try another technique because the WILD technique is a very difficult technique, but if you have seen signs of progression then continue because you are obviously getting somewhere! If all else fails you could just try another technique. If you want to talk about anything feel free to PM me.

WILDs and lucid dreaming in general is not considered easy. If you don't think you have the motivation for this technique I would try something else for the time being. The placebo effect of knowing you WILL LD from a technique and self belief it will work goes a long way to becoming lucid, and if you don't have this belief and are getting annoyed with trying maybe opt for something else?

I have written up a guide to the DEILD technique with a few of my own person hints and tips, there is a link in my signature, why not have a read and see if it is something that you would like to try

I think your main mistakes were not being patient and getting frightened. You knocked yourself out of it.

Ibanez, no one can (or should) promise you a technique that will never produce random results. The best I can recommend is reading about the various techniques, find one that seems to "suit" you and give it try for at least a couple of weeks before dismissing it totally and trying something else.

You may wish to check out the Tutorials forum which contains information on the various lucid dreaming techniques: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=25.
