Welcome to DreamViews! The LD's i've had in the past lasts up to minutes. I think it really depends on the individuals skill level...I've ran across some people here who claim they can lasts in their LD's for 2-3 hours. A skill i'm wanting to achieve
Things are not as they seem

      Hey there,

The thing is though, while LD's usually seem to last as long as real time, this is not always the case. An LD could feel like it lasts 5 hours, and in reality lasted only 10 minutes. Alternatively an LD could feel like it lasts 3 minutes, while an hour passed.

But assuming for easiness sake that I forget these oddballs, and go by the 'dream time is equal to real time' type of dreams, i'd say I've had lucid dreams ranging from less then a second to maybe 60 minutes tops. On average, I'd say 10-20 minutes.

Do you mean dreamtime or real time, for example could 5 mins real time feel like 30 mins?

Total dream duration can "feel" like any length of time - kind of like in a movie when the scene shifts to a later time, but really it's only 3 seconds later. Your mind can perceive the time span however it wants.

But as far as continuous dream "action," there is a lot of evidence that shows that time passes at about the same rate as when you're awake. So make the most of the time you have (in dreams and while awake).
      LD Counter (as of 07.25.07) = 5 (2 WILDs)
Short-term goal: Recall three full dreams a night for a full week.
Long-term goal: Have three LDs per week for one month.
Longer-term goal: Have one six-hour LD every night! (Shooting too high? We'll see.)
Waking life goal: Round up some NPSG equipment to study my own sleep patterns.

I feel like an ass for posting that now lol - But yeah as above there are 2 time zones as I like to call them, dream and real.

I have had LDs last real time for minutes but seem like hours and visa versa

My shortest LD was around 5 minutes.. my longest was around 1 1/2 hours.
I'd say on average that they last about 20 minutes or so.

Well then it sucks, because I wanted to use LD's to practice piano :S due to lack of 'day' time.

Don't worry. Even if you want to play the piano in a LD, you'd probably end up flying most of the time.

Don't be so sure about that.

Perhaps after the rist LDs and excietment over, (if I had like an hour LD) I'd practiced piano, or played soccer with DCs

If only we could bet . I hope you change your mind. It's for your own sake. At least take part in an interstellar battle. Don't be so boring . I've been trying to get somewhere for a year now. The closest I've ever gotten was looking at it through a window. Flying is just too damn cool.

The excitement never wears off! At least it never has for me. But I bet playing the piano in a Lucid could be quite fun. Just imagine the music you could create! Besides, you could easily play the piano while flying! I may just have to try that.

I've had a few nights, where I was able to stay Lucid all night! Not in the same dream of course. but in pretty much every dream of the night.

      Welcome to Dream Views

No, your mind isn't any less rested, just because you know your dreaming.
Actually, after a night like that, I'm so excited about it that I'm more awake than ever. But that's true even after just one short Lucid during the night.

Well the thing with lucids is that they can change in length. Some can be only fractions of a second where as others can be from half an hour to an hour. Some people have even claimed to live out an entire day in a lucid.
