      WILDing

For the last few nights I've been trying to WILD.

Last night I got further than before, possibly because I was doing it at 2:00AM. I lay down, completely still, and then after about 45 seconds I felt an itch on my forehead. I was about to scratch it before realising that this was my body checking if my brain was asleep. I ignored it, and it went away (if only more things acted like that ) I then started to feel like I had pins and needles all over my body, and also the feeling I get when I meditate that all of my muscles are relaxing, and assumed this was the SP stage. I however did not get any HI, and soon after fell asleep.

I have yet to LD, and I'm wondering, is this a good way to go about it? I do feel I'm making some progress with it, as last night I got further than ever before. How can I make sure I don't fall asleep before I want to? And what happens if the HI don't come?

      Thanks

      Hey Mark

You definately sounded asthough you were on your way to a WILD, what you may have done is tried to WILD outside of an REM period, if you do this you will not experience HI until you enter an REM period, so you probably just eventually lost concentration after waiting for HI and fell asleep. My advice to you is to wake up after 5-6 hours of sleep and attempt a WILD, you may have more sucess that way. You seem to be doing well and i'm sure you will do well if you apply the technique properly Best of luck to you Mark!

Thanks very much for the advice, I shall keep working on geting to where I was last night, and I shall try it after waking myself up on friday or saturday, I think waking up mid-sleep and then doing my paper rounds and going to school would make me very irritable indeed

Thanks so much for the help
