      First try ever!

I wanted to ask how this is for my time ever: I decided that a WILD sounded like the one for me, so I started thinking a number as I breath in and thinking I will have a lucid dream as I breath out. When i get to about 75 I get this wierd feeling and my body started to get kind of waves going through it, I felt the waves but I couldn't feel my body. Is this strange, good for a first try or bad? Any help is appreciated!

      (I love this guy)

First of all, welcome to Dreamviews!

Your experience is pretty advanced for a first trial. The waves of energy are exactly what you feel through the process of having your body fall asleep. Your body slowly goes numb, and you start not feeling it anymore. This is close to a successful WILD, in which you can take advantage of your Body Paralysis to displace your dream body.

After your body becomes completely numb, you will be able to enter your dream. Attempt to visualise a scenario, and then step into it.
That transition is possible because, since your brain has no more sensorial input coming from your body, it tries to visualise what you are doing. You will be moving the mental image your have of your body, while your real body won't be moving at all. It is the best technique of entering a dream in my opinion.

I suggest you read the tutorials on the topic we have here at Dreamviews, if you haven't done it so far. If you have, then all I can say is good luck on your next WILD!

Ok one more question, you said to visualize a scenario when I get that far. You mean I could just kind of make a picture of a forest and try to step into it? Last night I didn't remember anything about designing a place like that so I didn't, but is that what you think I should do next time? Thanks for helping!

Well, first hint is to not push yourself too hard because, if you are not in full Sleep Paralysis yet, you could ruin your attempt. Try it whenever it feels natural.

That considered, you can work out a scenario in order to enter a dream; but do it progressively, else your dream will lack detail. If it's being hard to make a start, tell yourself "forest" and the next thing you'll think of will probably be a forest.

Adding up, you will find it easier to visualise your dream bedroom. You were feeling your bed not that long ago, so it's easier for your subconsicous to work out the image of it. It will be also easier to move your dream body from your bed: just roll out of it.
(Entering your dream through your bed is just cool afterall, isn't it? It's like your bed is your portal to the dream world )

Finally, remember WILD is also about trial and error. If something doesn't work for you, you can always make up a new method of doing it.

      Best of luck!

Very good 1st try! On my 1st try a few days ago, the same thing happened to me. I didn't get into a dream, but did experience SP. My legs did get numb, but thats all I allowed to get numb before I snapped myself outta it. I'm gonna try it again soon, and try to step into a dream. Hope you step into a dream yourself

Thanks again, I'm going to try again tonight after I read some more about SP and I'll try doing the dream bedroom thing you suggested. Thanks, I'm going to post what happens after I'm done if I wake up, or later tomorrow.

      Ditto

I usually try to WILD everynight, just for the sake of it.. It's fun even if you don't get to a lucid dream But a lucid dream is a hell of a reward

I have another question, the last time I tried I just suddenly found myself with my eyes open without me even doing anything, I hoped it had been a false awakening so I did a few reality checks, but is there anything I can do about that? Thnks ahead of time.

Just wanted to say I had my first lucid dream yet!! It was amazing!! I don't know how I realized it was a dream but I just kind of knew at the beginning! At first I felt like I was osing lucidity so I tried the spinning thing and I felt better, then I tried four reality checks to mak sure and they all worked. At first I just walked around my house and talked to my family then I went to my room and made some stuff appear for me after I did an instant clean on my room. After I finished in my house I decided to try appearing at the mall and it worked!! I caused some chaos while there, you know wrecking stores and stuff. Afterward I decided that I wanted to fly, so I went outside and started running and juming and every time I jumped I got higher and higher then I was able to stay above the clouds!! Whiule I was up there I got bored by myself soI brought a few friends up and we flew around. Then I made us all have big sticks an we started a big war in the air, and after we were done I decided to tell them that if they threw the sricks into the ground they would grow into their choice of a tree. The last thing I remember doing was going to a very populated area(my whole school was there) and just walk up to random people and tell them they were only dream characters. I got some wierd coversations: Me: Did you know that you only exist in a dream?
Mayor: Yes of course I know that.
      --------------------------------------
Me: Do you know I can destroy you at any time since you are in my dream?
      Him:No you can't.
Me: Watch. (I meant to make his leg implode but all that happened was I looked like an idiot)
Him: Yeah you can really destroy me.(smart @$$)

Well that was The end of what I remember. THis is my favorite dream ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That sounds like a great dream! Congrats! I had my first LD last night too. Not as long or cool as yours, but still exciting!

That's a really cool dream, sounds like you had lots of control and it was pretty long. I love the part with the DCs .

Yeah it was great!! I had way more control than I thought I would on my first time. It was also longer than most of my dreams which I thought was great considering I was lucid!! I do have a question though, actually two. Is LDing like some other things where after you do it a few times it is easier, or do people just get better? (I hope that made sense) My next one is how do you remember what you want to do in a dream? I couldn't remember a single thing I had wanted to do.
