Does this happen to anyone else?

Recently i have been falling into some sort of sleep where im like almost about to go to sleep when all of a sudden my ears will start to ring realll loud and everything around me is really blurry and i almost feel like im going to get hurt or die or something if i dont move or try to stop it....

Even if i stop it by blinking or moving my body i will fall back asleep and it will happen again untill i actually change my surrounding by turning the tv on or music or something for me to distract my self from getting into this again

is this something that i should get looked at for by a doctor?

Hey mjtbsdreams and to Dream Views

My ears start to ring at times, the fact is that when you are trying to fall asleep you focus more attention to yourself, things become more obvious and sometimes ear ringing can occur, it doesn't happen all the time. I think that there is no problem here, i say that you test for it during your everyday routine, sit down and concentrate, if you don't hear it it is likely it is not dominant but something that occurs every so often, however if you do hear it and your very concerned please do feel free to go and see a doctor.

PM me if you want to talk about it though

      Hi,
Sounds like hypnagogia to me. If it only happens when you're about to fall asleep or after you wake up. If it happens during the day then you might want to go to a doctor. Maybe you could read this wiki article about Tinnitus (ear ringing thing). Sometimes when I'm about to fall asleep I hear ringing or humming, the vision is alwas blurry when there is no light or after I wake up. The fact that you can stop it by distracting yourself with some kind of activity makes me believe it's just one of those hypnagogic sensations that I talked about earlier. Here is a wiki about it . It can be a scary experience, I should know since I'm such a chicken. If you really want to see a doctor, then a psychologist or some sleep expert should probably be the way to go.

      Good luck!
