      Hi! Im New...

      Gday All,

Im Matt from Australia, and im 19 years old. Im currently in my Second Year of a Bachelor of Arts degree (History and Archaeology). so theres a little something about me....

i recently (only yesterday) became interested in LD's. After reading the basics on the net and many reports on this forum i've decided that it really fascinates me and i REALLY want to try and achieve LD's. Im going to go out today and buy Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming - Stephen Laberge as i read that this is probably the best book out there on the subject...good book to get?

How long does it usually take for someone to achieve LD's? (i know it changes from person to person but just a rough estimate if possible)

Neways thought i'd quickly introduce myself and say im enjoying reading everyones experiances...keep up the good work.

ps. - im the type to post a lot of questions (i like to do everything properly and know everthing i can)...so please bear with me or just tell me to take it easy if it gets to much haha.

      Hello Matt, to Dreamviews!
Like you said, the answer varies from person to person. I think the general average is a few weeks. I was on the longer side at 6-7 weeks, and some people have posted having an LD the day after they joined!
Feel free to post any other questions, and we'll try to help you as best as we can

Hey everyone, cheers for the kind welcomes.

i really cant wait to have a LD...i know it will be an amazing experiance. ill be content if i have to wait 2 months to LD but what im reading so far, im hoping for a month. oooh i cant wait haha.

how long does it take to get your dream recall at a good level (1 per night)....well, is it a hard thing to 'train' yourself to do?
i havent remembered a dream in about 2 weeks but i remember the last dream i had like it was real so im hoping thats a good sign that after i train myself to recall them better ill be able to do it well.

i was looking at the MILD technique...of what ive read so far (not a geat deal) im thinking that this is one of the easiest methods??? although i know it deffers from person to perrson.
well thats it for now. cheers again for the replys

      Peace

      Hey Matt,

I myself am new to the experience of LDing. So far the best I can do with regularity is Sleep Parlysis, which from what I've gathered is a good start. But I just wanted to say welcome (granted I've never been to Ausie land), hope you have better success than me.

      Best of luck,
      Adam

After just my first day of actually trying, i was remembering my dreams every night.
Start a dream journal if you haven't already. That will help your recall a lot

its looking encouraging so far just frow what i've read aroudn the forums and such... seems like i should have it after a month.

i started a dream journal... so far no new dreams (after 2 nights). but i wrote down my last dream just to get the ball rolling.

cool thing is though is that with all this thinking about dreams i've remembered some old dreams i've had, like when i was 8 or 9 years old... i can remember one almost perfectly where i was flying and i remember at the time i thought it was the best thing ever. its cool re living it....haha

      aiiight... thats enough from me
      Peace

I've also remembered really old dreams. Once you get your mind set on recalling dreams, you remember them all
