      Talking LD this morning

I had to get up early to drive a friend to the airport this morning, so when I got back home, I went to sleep. I had a dream I was walking around and I did an RC of turning off a light switch, even though I was already pretty sure I was dreaming. So when the light didn't go off, I decided to fly. I went up through the roof, into space and grabbed hold of the tail fin of the space shuttle. The only problem was, it wasn't very realistic, and I felt like I was going to wake up at any moment. I did wake up into, what I didn't realize, was another dream. I think the people here call that "flase awakening" or something. Later, when I realized that was a dream, I remembered the techniques I read about here and rubbed my hands together when the whole dream started to dissolve. That didn't work, so I spun and said, "clarity now" but the dream dissolved and I woke up. I just wanted to let you people know I'm practicing what I've learned here and I'm making a little, slow progress.

      Congrats on the lucid dreams.

About the techiniques not working, it was just time to wake up I'm guessing. Often I have the feeling in LDs that I'm going to awake soon... and then do. It's annoying but kind of comforting to know that some part of me is still aware enough realize that my alarm is about to go off in a few minutes without even really knowing what time it is.

Keep it up and hope you have many more lucid dreams.

Congratulations on your LD and with practice they can only get better.

I agree with Vex, sometimes it's just time for the dream/REM period to end.

Yes, I will. Thanks for the help and encouragement from all of you. Who knew this could be so interesting. I wouldn't have thought there were so many techniques to this. I'm amazed at how much you people have personally mapped out the territory betwen sleeping and waking.

I was really suprised the first time I saw the tutorials list too! I've only tried a handful of them too, I've really got to try more of them one of these days...
