      My experience

Hi guys. I am from Rome, Italy, and I am new in this forum. I heard of Lucid Dreaming by chance, doing a private search on internet about a subject of a movie. I am really interested in the "world of dreams". I recalled I used to be a lucid dreamer when I was a child and teen. As many young people, I used to dream a lot... Now, with the frantic modern life, there are few hours to sleep and to dream
I often did the same dreams and, as any child, many of them were nightmares, usually a set recurring dreams. When I entered my teen age, I started to realize that I was dreaming because the nightmares were often the same... So this was the first step to control them!
I developed some techniques to wake up when a dream turned into a nightmare: jumping out from a window and falling made me wake up, but when I "learned to fly", I bounced and it didn't worked any more and I was scared... what if I was a sleepwalker? The best technique was to lie down on the floor and do a "mental effort", similar to the one you do when you are looking a far object and you focus close, blurring the view... And this was my preferred teleport to the reality. I often experienced a sleep paralysis after I woke up... and it was like a struggle againts the enemy of the dream, sometimes he won and I falled again into the nightmare, but often I opened my eyes and I realized I was in my room... I also used my acquired lucid-dreaming skil to force dreams on my first loves...
Now I can say I lost the skill and my dreams are often spliters of thoughts that vanish few minutes after I have opened my eyes..

I hope to find some answers in this discussions...

      Bye
